Western Illinois Fair

Western Illinois Fair Griggsville, Illinois | June 16-20, 2027 | Home of the World Famous School Bus Demolition Derby

Established in 1888, the Western Illinois Fair is one of the oldest county fairs in the state of Illinois, located in the heart of Pike County, Illinois, in Griggsville. Normally held each third week in June, the Western Illinois Fair hosts grandstand events such as queen pageant and princess contests, demolition derbies, truck and tractor pulls, and the annual School Bus Demolition Derby, one of

the most unique county fair events in the region. Arts and crafts exhibits are open to residents from Adams, Brown, Calhoun, Morgan, Pike and Scott counties. The Western Illinois Fair is also the host site for the Pike County 4-H agricultural shows, along with various events through the year. Local families have also utilized the grounds for auctions and wedding receptions in our entertainment pavilion.

Get ready for a fun-filled fright--we mean night!--at our 2026 Western Illinois Fair Haunted Hayride; Haunted School!

We're pulling out all the stops this year, with three weekends for you to take in all the spooky fun on October 16-17, 23-24, and October 30, from 7-10 pm each night. Stop by early to grab a light meal before getting in line on the haunted hayride!

We'll also have special events along the way. Our popular Western Illinois Fair Queen & Princess Pageant Trunk Or Treat will be on October 17 from 6-8 pm. And we'll have a new "Touch A Truck" night on October 24 beginning at 5 pm, where kids can stop by to get up close and personal with their favorite big trucks and machinery.

Conner Family Amusements, Inc. will also back again this year with carnival rides for purchase each night.

Cost for the meal is $5 each, and access to the Haunted Hayride is $10 each. (NOTE: Strobe lights are involved in the Haunted Hayride. No flashlights or glowsticks are allowed on the ride.)

Thanks to the Moose Lodge 420, a sponsor of our Haunted Hayride! We can't wait to scare--we mean see--you there!

Welp, we didn't win the billion-dollar Powerball lottery this morning. But County Fair Day at the Illinois State Fair is a pretty good consolation prize!

We'll be in Springfield to watch our royalty as they introduce themselves and get some state pageant prep done at the County Fair Luncheon. Then a fun day of checking out the sights and sounds of the fair!

We encourage to make a trip to Springfield to take in the Illinois State Fair!
