While I have a minute and before I forget, the charity bin is completely empty. If you have any spare yarn, please think about donating. Balls and partial skeins are welcome. Thanks, Jamie and Laura

If it wouldn't take so much yarn to make a bathrobe, I'd make it out of this yarn and never take it off! Lapin is made with Angora, a new cashmere substitute and polymide. Feels luxurious and exquisitely soft. Check out Lapin when you are in the shop!!!!

I loved the feel of this yarn when I saw it made up. I'm not usually a fan of fuzzy yams, but decided to give it a try. I love it! I will have a sample out for you to actually knit! Don't pass it by. I've included photos of the yarn's details! It's so luscious!!!

Last year, we had a great cotton/ metallic yarn at the shop called Amigurumi Sparkle. It was great for Amigurumi, snowflakes, ornaments, etc. The weight is a sport/dk. The metallic is NOT itchy like the Christmas Yarns from the big box stores. I started with simple curtain rings, single crochet, and some mini bells and ornaments. Here are a few of my creations. Sparkle yarn will be restocked next week!

Important Announcement. Please read!

If you are a sock knitter or love making shawls, we are having a special sale.

Kathy Frazier, a longtime customer and friend, recently passed away. She gave her solicitor explicit instructions that her yarns should come to Spinnin' Yarns instead of ending up at Goodwill or other thrift store. Kathy gave me permission to dispose of/sell her yarn because she wanted people who would appreciate it to benefit from the yarn.

The yarn was divided and dispersed as follows:

Acrylics went to the NICU/warming shelter group.
Cottons went to the washcloth/women's shelter group.
Woolens went to the Sailor's mission or the Military knitting group.

There are over 100 beautiful skeins of sock/DK weight yarn left over. Some of them are wound, but are full skeins. The original ordering info accompanied the yarn and so I know that these skeins were $18 to $35 a skein.

Kathy kept ALL THE BALL BANDS!!!! You can see the content and yardage of all of the skeins. I believe there were only 2 "mystery" skeins.

On Monday, September 14th, these baskets of name brand and independent dyer yarns will be on sale for $10 a skein. These are wonderful skein, most in bags, and nearly all with ball bands.

Please come by and pick out a skein you will enjoy!!! Kathy would be pleased that her yarns will be enjoyed, knitted/crocheted, and loved!

Thanks and see you soon!

Laura is in charge of Spinnin' Yarns this week. Gordon and I are taking a trip to see relatives and see Yellowstone. We are currently in Cody, Wyoming.

I wanted to share the place we are staying with all of you in case Yellowstone is a place you'd like to visit. This is run by Holiday Inn in Cody, WY. It is spotless! Better than a hotel. From the outside you might think..... It can't be that good????? The fee was $124 a night. About 1 hour from Yellowstone.
