And finally our last Senior Spotlight is Miss Ciara Clipse!! She’s been a joy to teach for all these years & I can’t imagine seeing the stage without her gorgeous face (& those dimples!). The studio won’t be the same without you. We love you & wish you the best of luck in your future!! I am graduating from Gridley High School!

I have been dancing for 15 years now

Outside of dance I enjoy spending time with friends and family, cheering, and traveling!

I started dancing at 3 years old

What got me into dance was my mom noticing me dancing around anywhere I went, music or not, and decided to put me into classes. I fell in love with the sport and have been doing it ever since!

My favorite dance I’ve ever competed is between “Without Fear” and “Call Me in the Morning”

My plan for next year is to attend Butte College and major in Radiology!

My ultimate life goal is to become a Radiologist Technician and specialize in all areas in that path, as well as getting married and becoming a mother!

I will miss absolutely everything about Barefoot. Barefoot is more than a studio, it’s a family. Between all of the competitions, recitals, and just regular classes, the feeling of support is never ending. This place is my second home, and I feel like i’ve gained numerous mothers and sisters. I’ll miss every joke being made, every practice, every recital, the feeling of competing, and all the emotions that come with it. Barefoot is such a special place and will forever hold a special place in my heart. This set of teachers and students is full of pure, unconditional love. I love you all so so much!

-I am graduating from Gridley High School.
2. How long have you been dancing?
-I have been dancing at Barefoot for thirteen years.
3. What do you like to do outside of dance?
-Outside of dance, I enjoy going on hikes and being outdoors with friends and family.
4. When did you start dancing (age)?
-I was two years old when I started taking ballet and tap classes in preschool. Then, I started dancing at Barefoot at the age of four.
5. What got you into dance?
-My passion for dance grew when I started taking classes at my preschool.
6. What is your favorite dance you ever did in a recital or competition?
-My favorite dance I have ever done was a competitive lyrical number called “Without Fear.”
7. What are your plans for next year?
-My plans for next year are to attend Butte College, and eventually become a lawyer.
8. What’s your ultimate life goal?
-My ultimate goal in life is to start a family and become a lawyer.
9. What will you miss most about Barefoot?
-I will miss Barefoot so much! I’ll forever cherish the countless memories and the amazing friends I’ve made within those walls. That studio truly shaped me into the person I am today, giving me so much more than just dance steps. I’ll miss the teachers who always pushed me to be my absolute best, both on and off the dance floor. And of course, I’ll miss the incredible girls who became my supportive friends, sharing every laugh and challenge. Barefoot wasn’t just a studio; it was a home, and I’ll carry a piece of it with me always.

3. What do you like to do outside of dance?
Outside of dance I love to read and write. I also enjoy hanging out with friends and family.
4. When did you start dancing (age)?
4 years old
5. What got you into dance?
My mom signed me up when I was little but over the years I really got into dancing and realized it has such a special place in my heart. It helped me get through hard times and introduced me to people that I’ve become so close with now. It has helped me become more confident and taught me to get out of my comfort zone.
6. What is your favorite dance you ever did in a recital or competition?
I have a couple favorite dances from over the years. I loved Power Over Me, Without Fear & I Don’t Care Much. I loved my duos with Jenny and my duo this year with my sister Reece. My final favorites were my trios with Mikaela and Ciara.

*SENIOR SPOTLIGHT* We have 4 graduating seniors this year and the first senior up is our longest dancing student (16 YEARS) - Miss Gracie Leishman! Gracie you provide us with endless laughs and we will all miss your positivity & amazing song selection! Best of luck! 🥹🩰 1. Where are you graduating from? I am graduating from Gridley High School!
2. How long have you been dancing? I have been dancing for 16 years!
3. What do you like to do outside of dance? I love to play board/card games, read, bake/cook, and watch movies!
4. When did you start dancing (age)? I started dance at the age of three, but I got to start early cause my birthday is earlier so I started halfway through a dance season.
5. What got you into dance? My mom put me into dance because my grandma owned the studio and we both begged her to
6. What is your favorite dance you ever did in a recital or competition? My favorite dance will forever be Power Over Me.
7. What are your plans for next year? I am leaving in September to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I will be serving for 18 months in Brasília, Brazil speaking the Portuguese language!
8. What’s your ultimate life goal? I want to start a family and work as a midwife.
9. What will you miss most about Barefoot? I will be leaving my little sister behind. I can’t remember a time where we didn’t do dance together, and I can’t remember a time where I didn’t do dance. I’m going to miss singing in the car after a long tiring day at dance and our bickering at dance comps when we are both tired. I’m going to miss watching her grow even more in class, and I’m going to miss being able to spend so much time with her. I’m also going to miss all the girls at Barefoot and how we have all gotten so close. I’m going to miss the teachers and all their support and encouragement. And I’m going to miss all the dance moms who are always willing to help (even when we are butt naked making a quick change lol). I’m just going to miss everything, so thank you Barefoot for all the things that I’m going to miss dearly!
