Greer Dragway is a 1/8th mile WDRA sanctioned dragstrip located near the city of Greer, South Carolina. Nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Greer is located between Greenville and Spartanburg in the Northwestern part of the State. The Greer Dragway was opened in th

e 1950's by the Greer Jaycees and was really a community project. All labor used in getting the track started, built and running was done by the Jaycees, neighbors and several area groups of concerned citizens. The original purpose was to provide money for needy children in the Greer, SC area. Besides having races to raise money for the children, the Jaycees would, on holiday weekends, have fireworks and other entertainment for those children. In the early 1970's the Jaycees were temporarily disbanded and the land was purchased by a realtor. The land was later leased and bought by Tom and Sue Ferrell. Roland McAbee became the manager of the track in 1979. On October 25, 1988, Roland McAbee passed away. Mike Greer then became the new manager of the track. Mike was the manager for over 20 years, and became the current owner in 2010. After the last race of 2009, the old racing surface and metal guard rails were done away with. Beginning in 2010 we have a brand new concrete track, walls and new timing equipment.

Thursday, June 18th: Practice & Grudge Racing from 6-10pm.

Saturday, June 20th: 490 Outlaw Racing and Bracket Racing, Gates open at 11:30am with Time Trials starting around 12:30pm.
This will be the 4.90 Outlaws last stop at Greer for the season so you don't want to miss them!

Race Day! Gates open at 2pm for our 5.30/6.30 classes plus our regular Bracket Race! Time Trials will start around 2:30pm. Chip Draw for 5.30/6.30 will be at 4:30pm. 5.30 and 6.30 will be "Off the Trailer" no time runs!

Spectator Admission is $15, Kids 6-11 $3 and under 6 is Free!

We will have Pro, No-Box, Sportsman, Jr. Dragsters, 5.30 and 6.30. See event details in comments for more info on the 5.30 and 6.30 classes. As well as more info for our Bracket Classes.

UPDATED Schedule for tomorrow's race! We will be opening at 2pm tomorrow with time trials starting around 2:30pm. Chip Draw for the 5.30 and 6.30 classes will be around 4:30pm at the picnic shelter area behind the grand stands. Listen for the announcement to head over that way.
*We understand it's going to be a hot day but if you haven't been in a while, we do have a set of covered bleachers to get you out of the sun so come check it out!
