A very rare rainy day...great for playing with fabric...I'm exploring the fun, fascinating, and at times frustrating world of foundation paper piecing. Pattern "Rita the Ripper" from the Sewing Notions Series at www.everydaystitches.com. A great learning experience.

Another finished project. Anyone that knows me, knows I love to start projects, but loose interest once I figured out the technique. Holding myself accountable to finish more than I start. Will be interesting to see how long that last...🤣😂

While Vera is usually doing textile art and I’m usually quilting, this month we’ve switched it up! I’ve been doing textile art with paint and Vera has been sewing quilts! Here is her latest jacket! Stunning!!

We have a few wearable art jackets for sale and we can also teach you how to make your own custom art jacket using several different techniques - Painting, stenciling, fused fabric and quilting!

Razzle Dazzle lap quilt completed, 44x44". Raw edge quilt, cottons & cotton flannel, based on design by Jill Abeloe Mead. Lots of fun play with colors and patterns. A great learning experience for a new quilter, me. Take away - while flannel is very forgiving and easy to sew, it creates lots of fabric link.

Spirit & Place fiber Gratitude piece completed. The Spirit & Place Festival is a multi-day festival of events independently created and hosted by the community and supported by the Spirit & Place organization, which is housed on the campus of IU-Indianapolis. The year’s festival is from Nov. 1-10, 2024, and explores the theme of GRATITUDE.
Annually, the festival brings together 100+ cultural organizations, congregations, artists, and other community partners to create 25-30+ events (exhibits, performances, panel discussions, workshops, and more) that inspire sustained conversation and reflection on a common theme.
Created with positive energy focusing on warm colors. The purple center with connecting chains symbolizes the soul & spirit surrounded by Family, Friends, and Expressions of Gratitude. The color Purple symbolizes the Creativity, Emotionality, Enlightenment, Imagination, Inspiration, and Spirituality Within each of us.
Machine quilted with messages from the Sheltering Wings’ questionnaire attached. Fiber piece measurements 9.5” x 32”

I might be a little obsessed with my peg loom and new fibers. The piece is still on the loom. It was planned as a practice piece for a demonstration ... oh well... will need to start another piece.
