Big blue hearts to those who pulled up to the opening reception for 22 South Carolinians! This is a very big milestone for me as an artist and also an amazing personal accolade as a native of Columbia, I probably didn’t even visit the museum of art until I was like 20 so to have work in there is just awesome, it is also a sign for change.

It was very humbling being in the presence of my peers and powerhouses of my craft but I think I fit right in! Better yet I bring myself to the table, bringing something new to the game is what I’m about so I love believing that my work separates itself! I stand on the shoulders of those before me and I see how far we can take this!

On view at the 2021 Biennial, this is piece 3 of 4 and probably my 3rd favorite maybe? I love them all equally but I think this piece in style and technique shine while others shine in composition and emotion. Nonetheless, you can find something beautiful in anything you look at so I hope you see the beauty in this 💙
