Yesterday, I had a conversation with a new Artist friend about the difficulty of posting regularly on social media (FB). She shared that she starts a project and posts photos of her progress as she works on it. I thought I'd do the same.

This field of red Poppies is my inspiration. I purchased beautiful "very" red imported paper. I hope you'll check out my posts as I work this project to completion. Thank you in advance and l'd love to read your comments.

I had an idea to do some little watercolor art cards of a whimsical little bird with big ideas. So I set to work sketching out a few senes I could put him into. While docenting at the White Rabbit Fine Art Gallery on Thursday, a small group of very nice ladies stopped by. They made several purchases, one of which was my Hibiscus flower, sculpted in cold porcelain and displayed in this tiny decorated, glass vase. Thank you for the compliments and the sale. I had just set this piece in the display an hour prior.

I just finished sculpting these yellow Hibiscus from cold porcelain and adding color. I set them in this tall blue vase and added a little natural fluff. What do you think? Fluff or should I replace with sculpted green leaves?

Yesterday, while greeting visitors at the White Rabbit Fine Art Gallery in TR, I met a very nice young lady. We had a wonderful talk about paper sculpted flowers. She purchased my Sculpted Rare Orchid, as an inspiration for a special budding artist. I hope you enjoy the Orchid, and don't forget to contact me whenever you want to talk "art."

I've dedicated the majority of my time, over the last several months, to learning to sculpt my flowers in cold porcelain. It's an interesting air-dry clay that remains fairly soft to touch and flexible once dry. I love this medium. Here is my first completed piece; destined to take its place in the White Rabbit Fine Art Gallery in Travelers Rest, SC this week. It's mounted on natural wood that has been finished with a wax coating. I just had to share it with you first ... I hope you like it. It will be followed by a planned series of natural looking flowers.
