Our hearts go out to Dolly Parton’s family.

In 2025, the Alexander Series had the pleasure of hosting a phenomenal performance by Trailblazing Women of Country:A Tribute to Patsy, Loretta and Dolly. This concert featured some of Parton’s greatest hits, including “I Will Always Love You,” “Coat of Many Colors,” and “Here You Come Again.”

Her memory will always be with us, and we will forever cherish the legacy she created for so many women in country music today.

Thank you, Dolly Parton. You will be deeply missed.

As a new chapter opens, one comes to a close.

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Alex Davis, who has served as the Artistic Director for the series and the Coordinator of Audio Services for the School of Music since he started at ECU in 2019. While it is bittersweet to say Alex Davis will be departing Greenville, NC and ECU as he takes on a new role as Director of Recording Studies and the University of South Carolina's School of Music.

Alex wishes "you all the best and encourage you to seek out the myriad opportunities to engage our Schools of Music, Theatre and Dance, Art and Design, and Communication at ECU along with the vast and dynamic community arts organizations working tirelessly to enrich our region with beauty. So many of the meaningful connections I've been blessed with here have grown from shared time together at arts events."

Though we say goodbye for now, the impact of your work remains with us, and we wish you all the best in the exciting paths ahead.
