Still thinking about our season finale last Saturday ✨
We had a lively time at our instrument petting zoo, hopefully inspiring the next generation to try a new instrument or develop a newfound love of music.
Foothills debuted an original piece written by our very own, second violinist Don Crandall, entitled Blue Ridge Parkway. This piece brought to mind peaceful drives, vibrant summer days, and the calm that only Blue Ridge brings.
We also played music from Firelight One, written by Grant Skellenger for his movie of the same name that never came to fruition. We were honored to welcome Skellenger, who told us the story of Firelight One’s creation and the piece’s background themes. Thank you both for sharing your talents and allowing us to bring your visions to life!
We ended with our guest conductor, who did an incredible job of leading Foothills through Seventy-Six Trombones to close the season!
Foothills is so thankful for another wonderful year! We hope to see you all at our Summer Pops Concerts ☀️
