Anchors away my friend!
Bouncing Souls heart & anchor wall clock.
What an awesome ask this was! After a recent tour by Pittsburgh greats Antiflag, a group of friends got together to show their appreciation for a hard working member of the af crew. After going over some ideas john, chris and myself decided on a bouncing souls inspired wall clock.
Inspired by the classic Hopeless Romantic work shirts, this beauty is just over 2ft tall. The heart is curly maple that I died with transtint wood dyes, and finished with a hand rubbed poly. The cutaway is filled with alumilite amazing clear cast resin, tinted with divine island liquid pigment.
For the anchor, cut from alder, I wanted to give this piece a special touch to tie in with the band even more. If you have ever seen the bouncing souls, you've seen Bryan's well traveled bass. I painted the anchor to match the original paint of the fender bass, then began the process removing paint to match the worn look of the heart of the Souls' rhythm section.
A true pleasure to create a piece I love as much as the client!
Do what you love, Love what you do!
