Feature Friday!

Matthew is a Sophomore at ECU working towards a Music Education Degree. He is from Elizabeth City, NC where he went to Pasquotank County High School. His favorite part of being in the ECU Horn Studio is the friendships he has made, and the exciting performances he has been able to take part in. His favorite performance is the recent Tchaikovsky’s 5th Symphony, performed by the ECU Symphony Orchestra. His favorite part about being a Student at ECU is the amount of knowledge he has gained, and how the professors are always fun to work with. Matthew also loves to teach music, and often goes to different schools to talk and play with younger musicians!

Meet Jacob!

Jacob Hartman is a sophomore and a music Education major. He is from Wendell, NC and attended Corinth Holders HS. He loves that the ECU Horn Studio feels like one big friend group. His favorite recent performance/piece is the ECU Symphony Orchestra’s performance of Tchaikovsky’s Symphony no. 5. He loves ECU’s friendly atmosphere and approachability. He’s also an Eagle Scout and plays Guitar in his free time!

Brass musicians 7th-12th grade!!

Your ECU Brass Faculty will be hosting a virtual workshop for North Carolina All-State Band Auditions on November 21st. All 7th-12th grade trumpet, horn, trombone, euphonium, and tuba students are welcome to attend and participate!

Sessions will be:
9th/10th grade - 10:30 AM
11th/12th grade - 12:00 PM
7th/8th grade - 2:00 PM

Feature Friday! We’d like to introduce you to the 2020-2021 ECU Horn Studio!

Megan Mynster is a Sophomore Music Education Major and a member of the Marching Pirates from New Bern, NC.

Favorite part of being a member of the ECU horn studio: I love the people and professors in the School of Music and I’m glad I get to be a part of it

Favorite ECU concert performance: My first concert in Wind Ensemble last spring with former Director of Bands, Dr. Carter. He always made rehearsals fun and interesting 📯

Favorite aspect of being an ECU student: The friends I’ve met are definitely my favorite thing about being an ECU student💜💛

Random Fact: I was a Girl Scout for 6 years

ECU Band-O-Rama!
Congratulations to everyone who played last night at the final Band-O-Rama concert of the semester. So proud of how hard each of these students have worked and it is showing in concert! Wonderful job to all!
