Hailey reflects, “I started dancing at the age of six, and from the very beginning, I knew it was something special to me. I was always dancing around my living room, taking every chance I could to perform, and I quickly fell in love with being on stage. After several years of recreational dance, I decided at age eleven to take a leap into the competitive world—that’s when I found Inspire Dance Studio, a place that would soon become my second home. In my first year, I trained in jazz, tap, ballet, and lyrical, though the
season was unfortunately cut short due to covid. Even so, I fell in love with the experience, and the following year I pushed myself further by adding a trio and taking on as many dances as I could. My passion only continued to grow.
When I entered high school, I decided to take on
more dance by joining the Hortonville Dance Team. Although this forced me to scale
back to three competition dances at Inspire, I knew I wasn’t ready to let it go. Over the past four years, I’ve worked hard to balance both my school team and my time at Inspire in addition to school, and I wouldn’t trade that experience for anything.
There is so much I will carry with me from Inspire Dance Studio. It not only allowed me
to pursue and deepen my passion, but it also taught me discipline, perseverance, and
confidence. It challenged me, inspired me, and introduced me to people who became my best friends. I am incredibly grateful to the staff and my teammates for shaping me into the dancer and person I am today.
As I look ahead, I’m excited to continue my education at UW-Whitewater, where I plan to study business. While my next chapter will bring new opportunities, my love for dance will remain a constant in my life. I hope to one day become a dance teacher, sharing my passion and inspiring younger dancers the same way my teachers inspired me.
Dance has remained a constant in my life. It has given me unforgettable memories, lifelong friendships, and a true sense of purpose. No matter where life takes me, I know dance will always be a part of me. To the younger dancers, stay passionate, cherish every moment and take it all in while you can. You’ll be a senior before you know it.”
