People sometimes feel they need to be able to articulate why they want a particular work before they are allowed to buy it. That is not how it works.

The attraction does not need a defense. You do not have to be able to explain Aspen Trail to someone who asks; you just have to know it belongs in your space.

The explanation, if you want one, tends to arrive later on its own.

The finished work is not the whole story. It is the end of a longer, quieter process that most collectors never see.

Golden Shimmer

The fairy Golden Shimmer was born into the Critters Clan in Hoover and his chipmunk family’s cozy burrow. As she grew, she learned the ways of the chipmunks and joined them in their food gathering and preparations for the cyclical seasonal changes. She had certain unique fairy qualities that provided the family with resources, fine weavings and delicate tools that they could not master the making of themselves, in exchange for the warm, soft winter nest that they provided her to survive the cold winters. This exemplifies the symbiotic relationship that fairies maintain with the world of nature in which they live.

Most people never think about this consciously, but they feel it. Art placed directly in a sightline changes a room immediately.

A lot of people hold off on collecting art because they rent and feel uncertain about committing to walls they do not own. But art does not belong to a wall. It belongs to you.

Renting is not a reason to live with bare walls. It is a reason to collect work that matters enough to keep moving (and growing) with you.

"Hoover's Bounty" and my other work are connected to the people who love them, not just the places they're displayed.

Bluebells

These Virginia Bluebells bloom in early April in Bull Run Regional Park. I have read that this is the biggest collection of wild bluebells in North America. Truely amazing!
