What is PirateFest? A large outdoor celebration offering fun, food, art, and entertainment for all ages! 2023 marks the 16th annual event. Initially, PirateFest was established to celebrate ECU's Centennial and to create a signature community festival for Greenville. WHEN:

E, N.C. - Ahoy! Swashbuklers of all ages will converge on thee banks of Tar River, a paradise located in Uptown Greenville, for thee 16th annual PirateFest on April 15, 2023. PirateFest begins on Saturday, April 15 thee festival begins at 11am. The celebration will take haven along 1st Street and on thee Town Common. A ‘vast me Hearties! The carnival will be set up at thee Five Points Plaza in Uptown Greenville, expanding the festival to now encompass Five Points and Evans Street to thee Tar River. A sneak preview of the rides that will be available at the carnival include, though be not limited t', thee following: a carousel, firehouse, super slide, frog hopper, musical swings, and a circus train. PirateFest features fine arts and crafts for sale, two live music stages, a “grog garden,” pirate entertainers, a Parade of Pirates, a Children’s Pirate Costume Contest, and a Pirate Encampment that is expanded this year offering crafts, inflatables, and a carnival. Also don’t miss the Fossil Dig, free kayak rides, as well as a variety of grub and entertainment at thee Town Common. PirateFest is organized by Uptown Greenville, Pitt County Arts Council at Emerge, and thee City of Greenville.
