Week 20/56, 2025

The number one recommendation I’ve given to folks over the past few years is to START JOURNALING! In whichever way it comes naturally to you.. Log your feelings, update your goals, write affirmations to yourself, doodle… Fam, whatever! I’m entering my third year of doing this daily, and it’s helped me process how I handled certain weeks, situations, and conflicts. Also, my drawing skills have vastly improved! This page from May 2025 features the last portrait I drew of my mother before her passing. I’m glad that I prefer to draw in ink, namsayin? ✍🏾

Thank You 💛 To everyone who donated their time, energy, and efforts to my family and I these past several years, I can’t thank you enough for your the supportive condolences and generosities. Your letters, your words of comfort, and your acts of kindness have all kept my head high and my eyes forward. In short, I’m beyond grateful for everyone that was moved by the life and homegoing of my incredible Mother.

And Mama, I know we spoke earlier, but I wanted to take another moment to say I miss you. Like, A LOT a lot. I appreciate all the guidance, the bedside chats, the games of connect four, the concrete values, and most important, that Serenity prayer. All that reciting it on the way to school every day really sunk in 😌

You taught me not to worry about things out of my control. As long as it’s in HIS control. And although we’ve had our share of worrying each other over the years, we really… Ma, no need to bring up those old graffiti stories.. We really grew to Love and understand one another. And again, I thank you for that 💛

Anyway, I’m going to keep my promise and keep moving forward. With even more attention to detail. Yes ma’am, like you asked me to. Anyway, I Love you and we’ll chat later!

☀️ Today, I find myself celebrating 35 years of earth exploration — reflecting on the experiences and encounters that keep rerouting my God-guided GPS.
The games I’ve played could make a jester joyful.
The prices I’ve paid could make kings and queens quiver.
And the skin I’ve shed could sink ships.

And if we’re being real, I’d do it all over again if I could.

So as I enter this next chapter — with my inner child as creative director — I’ll keep treating life as one big, lovely experiment, embracing all the love and losses that make it beautiful.

Mama, we made it! 💯

☀️ Sooo… It was never my intention to invite “disappearing for a month and a half and locking in” into my creative process, but hey — things change! When it’s time to cosplay Casper and get creative, that’s exactly what I do. And one thing about me? I never like to show back up to a party empty-handed — so here’s a SNEAK PEEK of what my big sister and I have been up to!
Dropping in June, our new children’s book created in tandem with our recent documentary short “Grounded: Creating Space for Black Peace” we bring you… A Great, Big Love! 💛
This glorious picture book transports us to the rushing waves at the beach and shares the importance of being grounded and rooted in life. Teaching kids to understand and communicate your emotions is the beginning to happier, healthier kids ❤️

Has anyone ever told you to touch grass, but there was no grass nearby to touch? Well, modern problems require modern solutions, which is why I partnered with Invisible Brands to solve all of your tactile needs. Now, you can touch grass wherever you go! 🌱👈🏾 Grateful to have worked on the branding for their reusable container. I’m thrilled with how it turned out!

Had a lot of fun designing this exclusive E30 mug for a car raffle. I wasn’t around for the 1988, so I had to run off of research and “vibes” for this one 🚗

I’m probably one of the last illustrators on Instagram to post fan art referencing the Kendrick versus Drake saga, but like many artists, I have my reasons. Ironically, these were all drawn within days or hours of the songs releases, but I was going through something back then. And since I’m trying to incorporate more writing into my art, I figured I would share a bit of what I was feeling!

If this story is worth finishing, find me on Substack and I’ll post the rest there!
