Had a nice 2-week break from Randomonium. I used the time to get to know my ARP 2600. Steepest learning curve of any synth I've owned, but I think I got it mostly figured out! Since the70's it's been used on countless sci-fi soundtracks. You probably know it best as the voice of R2D2, but it can also sound really beautiful and musical if you program it right. I hope I've done that here.

I love these little 2-part Inventions of Bach. This one is super short, at only 1 minute, so I fired up the big Moog. 😀

I don't think there's a musical riff that better evokes the terror of vertigo than Bernard Herrmann's score here. And what kind of piece ends on an augmented chord?!? I had so much fun programming eerie sounds on the Groove Synthesis 3rd Wave!

Please enjoy my latest synth offering. This fugue is playful, yet in a minor key so it sounds mischievous. The ending goes completely off the rails in the best possible way. Bach definitely had a wild side! 😀

Ever since the Spielberg “West Side Story” came out, I’ve been obsessed with this song. It’s so “cool”! Bernstein is one of the great American composers of my lifetime. I hope we did him justice here. Please enjoy!
