🎼 With only 30 days to go until the first day of classes at Furman, we're excited to announce the first Furman Symphony Orchestra concert of the Fall 2026 semester!

The Sacred and the Profane (dramatic, we know. 😄)

Join us for an evening featuring the comically witty Overture to Candide by Leonard Bernstein and the monumental Symphony No. 1 in C Minor by Johannes Brahms. It's a program full of humor, triumph, and everything in between.

Spend a day making music at Furman String Day!

Join violinists, violists, cellists, and bassists from across the region for a full day of rehearsals, sectionals with Furman's outstanding string faculty, performances, and a final concert to share what you've learned with family and friends.

Whether you're thinking about studying music in college or simply love playing your instrument, this is your chance to:

Tomorrow is opening night for the Sarah Reese Lyric Theatre and Furman Symphony Orchestra's production of Kurt Weill's Street Scene! The cast and orchestra have been hard at work bringing this masterpiece to life! You have two chances to see it! Tomorrow at 7:30PM and Sunday at 2PM! Both performances are at Furman University in McAlister Auditorium!

Last Thursday we had our Emerging Artists! concert where we featured our 25-26 concerto competition winners Rebecca Wirth and Caroline James. We also featured an official premiere of a new orchestration of Gershwin's Three Preludes by Furman Student Thomas Witt. The Concert was an amazing event, but also bittersweet! We are saying goodbye to 8 Furman Symphony Orchestra graduating seniors.
