Tomorrow is opening night for the Sarah Reese Lyric Theatre and Furman Symphony Orchestra's production of Kurt Weill's Street Scene! The cast and orchestra have been hard at work bringing this masterpiece to life! You have two chances to see it! Tomorrow at 7:30PM and Sunday at 2PM! Both performances are at Furman University in McAlister Auditorium!

On Thursday February 26th The Furman Chamber Orchestra traveled to The Woodlands at Furman to give a concert featuring the music of Ralph Vaughan-Williams, Gustav Holst, and Andrea Casarubbios! It was a grand time for the orchestra and we can't wait to go back!

Last Thursday we had our Emerging Artists! concert where we featured our 25-26 concerto competition winners Rebecca Wirth and Caroline James. We also featured an official premiere of a new orchestration of Gershwin's Three Preludes by Furman Student Thomas Witt. The Concert was an amazing event, but also bittersweet! We are saying goodbye to 8 Furman Symphony Orchestra graduating seniors.

Congratulations to the 2025–2026 Furman Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition Winners!

We are proud to announce Rebecca Wirth (saxophone) and Caroline James (flute) as this year’s winners. Both musicians delivered outstanding performances, along with several of their talented colleagues, before an esteemed panel of judges from Bob Jones University, Clemson University, and East Tennessee State University.

Please join us in celebrating their achievement and artistry at their featured performances with the Furman Symphony Orchestra on Wednesday, February 19th in McAlister Auditorium.

🎵 Join us on Veterans Day for a Concert of Honor and Reflection 🎵

Monday, November 11 at 7:30 PM in Daniel Chapel, the Furman Chamber Orchestra will share an evening of music that uplifts the spirit, fosters connection, and honors service and sacrifice.

Our program features Jennifer Erickson’s To Serve with Honor, written for Marine Lance Corporal Antoine Demetrius Smith, who gave his life in 2004 during the Battle of Fallujah. We are honored to feature Dr. Anna Joiner, Professor of Viola, as soloist.

The concert also includes:
