Thursday July 2nd one of our beloved G.O.T.E.M members went to be with the lord in heaven. Chuck Thacker was one of the most dedicated members of this club and even a better friend. He would go out of his way anytime anywhere. He was always trying to lend out a hand to help anytime we had an event going on with our club. Chuck was a very knowledgeable man when it came to any with an engine. You could be trying to get an old tractor to run for an hour and he could walk over and do a couple things and you’d be on your way in minutes. He had a love for his hobby but that doesn’t even compare to the love he has for his family. We have truly lost a great friend and mentor.

Please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers at this time.

Charles Ray “Chuck” Thacker, 56, of Flatwoods, Kentucky passed away Thursday, July 2, 2026, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Ironton, Ohio. Chuck was born January 27, 1970, in Portsmouth, Ohio, a son of Henry Arthur Thacker of South Shore, Kentucky and the late Martha Jane Frazier Thacker. He was a 1988 graduate of Greenup County High School, member of G.O.T.E.M. tractor club, and member and former deacon at Chinns Branch Baptist Church. Chucktgrf5t6=] greatly enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was a hardworking, loving, and wonderful father and husband who loved his family dearly. One of his favorite things was chocolate cake from Applebees.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by an infant brother David Wayne Thacker.

In addition to his father he is survived by his wife of 7 years Sharon Doreen Whitely Thacker; one son Nathanael (Emily Adams) Thacker of Ashland, Kentucky; one daughter Callina (Josh Mullins) of Grayson, Kentucky; two step daughters Erin (Dakota Brahier) Crosby of Flatwoods, Kentucky and Alicia (Nathan) Kelley of Flatwoods, Kentucky; four brothers Bill (Marsha Wilson) Thacker of South Shore, Kentucky, Ronnie (Jenny) Thacker of South Shore, Kentucky, Dale (Cathy York) Thacker of South Shore, Kentucky, Jeffrey “Shorty” Thacker of South Shore, Kentucky; three granddaughters Holly Rae Thacker, Baylee Jane Mullins, and Taylor Ann Mullins; and one grandson Ventus Lucas Kelley.

Funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup, Kentucky by Minister James Adams. Burial will be in Frazier Family Cemetery in Greenup, Kentucky. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 pm on Tuesday and one hour before the service on Wednesday. Condolences may be made at www.rlrfuneralhome.com.
