Towels!

My first sectional warp! There are a total of 200 ends of 8/4 cotton each 42 yards long. Each 2” section wound on separately has 20 ends (each with their own cone of yarn on the spool rack) and about 840 yards of yarn.

This method of warping allows me to make much longer warps than using a warping board helping to reduce setup time. This particular warp will be towels woven mostly in plain weave. The 8/4 cotton creates a twill like pattern in plain weave due to the natural twist in the yarn helping to add texture and elegance to a simple structure.

Finally catching up on some weaving now that the semester is over! Just finished up some linen yardage that will eventually be a pillow case or cushion.

16/2 linen warp alternating natural and half bleached in the warp woven in velour.

My first year of college was great. Lots of music, violin, organ, photography and friendship!
