Night ✌️ of the rodeo and the energy just keeps getting better 🤠🔥

The lights are brighter, the crowd is louder, and the rides are wilder. There’s nothing like the dust in the air, the sound of hooves hitting the ground, and that electric feeling when the gate swings open.

If you thought last night was good… tonight is on a whole different level.

Who’s ready for another unforgettable night?! 🐎💥

THE RODEO IS COMING TO TOWN!! 🤠🍔🐂
April 24th and 25th, 2026
8:00 p.m. Nightly

The Greene County Livestock Association has been around for 50 years. We have been an organization that has brought rodeo to our county for all of these years. We sponsor Jr. Rodeos, 4-H calf shows, 4-H horse camps, FFA projects, and many projects concerning agriculture and youth. All of these programs help children learn responsibility, sportsmanship, to be team members, gather knowledge, and develop a love and respect for animals and agriculture related adventures.
Greene County 4-H Club is a Pro Rodeo co-sponsor and they work each year to sell ads for the program, organize and man the concession stand, ticket gate, parking, and clean up each night at the end of the rodeo. The Livestock Association enjoys being able to help offset the cost of some of their activities.
Through our Pro Rodeo, over the years we have donated money to the Relay For Life, Greene County 4-H, Greene County FFA, Greensboro Fire Department, JROTC and Circle of Love. We also donate to MCG Cystic Fibrosis Clinic Foundation in honor of Hoyt Sapp, son of Peyton Sapp former Ag Agent in Greene County. You can read Holt’s story at www.milesforcysticfibrosis.org/Augusta. Also to SE Brain Tumor in honor of one of our members' sons.

The Greene County JR RODEO is coming Saturday August 23rd at 6:00 pm to the covered arena on 1180 Weldon Smith Road in Greensboro. Concessions will be open so come ready to eat and help support the rodeo fun for kids- The gate is only $3.00 for adults-13 yrs and up --$2.00 for kids 5 to 12 yrs—4 yrs and under are free. Sign-up for events starts at 5:00 p.m.
You don’t want to miss the fun and excitement these kids bring to their sport. They cheer each other on as they compete in the speed events : barrel racing, pole bending, arena race, and Texas barrels. Each of those events have three groups-5 yrs to 9 yrs- 10 to 13 yrs and 14- 18 yrs. The quieter events are the walk-trot ; ages 5-9 yrs and 10 to 13 yrs -and the western pleasure ages 14 to 18 yrs old. The Pants on the Goat race (ages5-18 yrs) is the all-time favorite where all ages join in-one child signs up with a partner riding a horse and they try to put pants on a goat! Its hilarious!

The above events are $5.00 each with ages 5 to 9yrs and 10-13 yrs groups winning ribbons 1st thru 5th. One contestant from the two groups will win the treasured high point trophy. The 14- 18 yr age group wins money for their classes. Pants on the goat is ribbons only.

Then they really holler as the youngest (ages 6 yrs and under) try to ride the sheep and when the older kids cowboy up to ride the steers!( 2 groups are 7 yrs -12 yrs and 13yrs - 16) All of the above events are $5.00 each person. Money payback for steers- ribbons 1st-5th for sheep riding.
We have 2 events that you don’t have to sign up for – they’re free! and no horse is needed – they are : the stick horse for the littlest – ages 5 yrs and under—the boot race for ages 6 yrs to 10 yrs. They get participant ribbons.

These lil rodeos bring so much joy and confidence to the participants. They learn so much about taking care of their animals(their partners) and about good sportsmanship- competing yet becoming lifelong friends sharing their love of animals and rodeo. So come on down to the Greene County covered arena on Weldon Smith Road in Greensboro Saturday night August 23rd- at 6:00 pm and cheer them on! They love hearing you clapping for them from the stands—watch how they smile!
