Mysticism won the twitter poll. Thanks to everyone for participating. A new twitter poll will go up for a new blessing on friday.

Theater of Destiny
Labor: Saga
Roll: Mysticism

The Hero with this Blessing may create a mystical borderline around an area, intensifying the hold of fate on it and ensuring that great things are destined to happen within its borders.

For the remainder of the Episode, all Heroes who would spend a Chapter Labor may choose to use two Episode Labors instead. Furthermore, for every four successes, any Hero in the Episode may use two Chapter Labors instead of a Saga Labor one time. This Blessing may be used during a Lull Episode, but doing so immediately ends the Lull and begins a new Adventure Episode.

This Blessing’s benefits do not come without a price; designating an area as the theater for fate’s most important events ensures that the Episode will not be uneventful and something surprising or meaningful will occur. Destiny ensures that important people, events, or items appear that might not originally have been part of the Episode, responding to the call of fate.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The "Crafting A Saga" chapter goes into great detail about how Destiny handles powers like this, but since you don't have that in front of you yet, I'll try to help with an example.

Colin, Alison, Greg, and Diane have been working to uncover corruption in the city\s bureaucracy. Today they've had harrowing altercations with an inner city gang, a lengthy police altercation, an interesting portal Colin and Greg wanted to explore, and a battle with an ROUS (rodent of unusual size). They are exhausted and strained on resources as they make it to the firehouse where they have a meeting with the fire chief. Diane is trying to get him on their side about the political corruption, but it's not going well.

Diane's player mentions "this would be a lot easier if I had any Chapter Labors."
Colin's player knows he can help.

Colin's player rolls his Mysticism and spends a Saga Labor. Now every character can use their Episode Labors (they refreshed recently because it was a new Episode) to fuel their Chapter Labors. And since he rolled a 9, two people of Colin's choosing can spend Chapter Labors (if they had some left) to fuel their own Saga powers.

Colin starts noticing strange patterns in the walls and concrete, reminding him of the strands of life that the Moirai, goddesses of fate, use to measure and control human lives. Suddenly, the negotiation with the fire chief seems like it might only be part of something much bigger...

This firehouse has become a Theater of Destiny and a focus point for the story.

Destiny is prepared. This Saga has an animal subtheme, and a couple sideplots written in case of powers like these. While Diane is upstairs with the Chief using her potent Diplomacy and Sovereignty blessings, Alison starts hearing sounds from behind a wall. She finds a hidden door that leads down stairs to an underground dog fighting event, in progress. These dogs seem much larger than normal, and there are some key antagonists from early in the plot here. The group is faced with some new challenges, but also possibly new ways to solve their problems.

Colin didn't MAKE the dog-fighting event downstairs suddenly occur - as far as the Saga is concerned, it was there all along, even though Destiny just decided out of character to add it. The Episode was one that was fated to be important to the entire Saga, and Colin, by virtue of being in touch with Mysticism, just happened to notice it when other characters might not have.

Just finished a Saga with our international Hero's Journey game. Brice, Florian, Matt and Garth were all a blast. We had some bumpy scheduling, but Im so glad we got it all figure out. Cant wait to meet with more playgroups in the future and maybe(hopefully) get to do a story with team france again in the future.

Now working on getting that Mortal PDF out to everyone :)!
