The NC Dance Festival is now accepting applications for the 2026–27 season, and the deadline is just 1 week away.

This call includes multiple opportunities to:

✨ Create new choreography
✨ Share repertory
✨ Connect with dance artists across the state

NCDF is committed to uplifting new work, strengthening the NC dance community, and making modern & contemporary dance accessible to audiences and students in meaningful, up-close ways. The vision? Programming where everyone can see themselves reflected.

Thanks to UNCG for featuring some of the many UNCG alumni who keep Dance Project and the NC Dance Festival thriving! Happy to be able to partner with organizations like the North Carolina Folk Festival to celebrate dance in Greensboro!

Dance alumni are proud that UNCG laid the foundation for their professional journey. The bonds they formed in higher education stay strong after graduation, and they’re using them to build a thriving arts scene in Greensboro.

Today we honor Jan Van D**e, marking 10 years since her passing. Her impact on our dance community is unforgettable. Through former students turned teachers, Jan’s wisdom shapes new generations of movers. Her influence is seen in the choreographic ventures across NC and in the core values of Dance Project’s programs. We carry Jan with us—today and every day—in our hearts and our bodies, working to evolve the legacy she created. As part of the NC Dance Festival’s 35th Anniversary, we’ll present her choreography to new audiences and celebrate her memory with the Jan Van D**e Legacy Award.
