My latest project, having taken up the better part of the last two weeks. Everyone except the horn player has to double. Piccolo writing is not high and screechy, but used when a smaller sound is needed. Bass clarinet and contrabassoon are necessary for the low sounds in Bydlo only. And English horn is used in The Old Castle and Catacombs. Fully workable by a single woodwind quintet.

My latest project, intended as a book to be used for teaching, giving woodwind faculty a few more options for music to be learned by young musicians who don't have much experience playing in quintet, and also fit to be used on a faculty recital. Includes the "Saint Anne" fugue as well as both "great" and "little" g minor fugues.

My latest completed project, the Brahms Piano Quintet in f minor, transcribed for chamber orchestra. It took more than a year of work.

There were numerous changes to this music. The End Title music is in D-flat not E-flat, it isn't easy, so I tried to help. There was also a cut, which I left in, there were wrong notes over "Leia's Theme," and the ending was changed. When I say I am familiar with John Williams' music, I mean it!

This video is from when I played for All Saints Chapel, the first Monday in November, at Canterbury School. I did the arrangement, along with another for oboe & guitar. The composer, Ennio Morricone, by no means a rookie to film scoring, earned his first Academy Award, this year (with THE VERGE), at the age of 91. He'd won an honorary Oscar in the same year this film was made. This was the first time I played oboe in nearly two years, so I'm a little rusty. Please pardon my sagging octave F #'s & G's, this was about the 4th time I'd played it that morning. I was also deprived of two beats to breathe, in the middle, so please excuse the entire 2nd half. I usually play the end much more beautifully.
