In 2010 Hurricane Earl forever changed the coast of the OBX without the eye ever making landfall. Frisco Pier, aka Cape Hatteras Pier was destroyed by the category 4 storm as it skimmed the coastline. I was fortunate enough to photograph the pier before it’s removal in 2019. For 48 years the 500 foot long pier created many a family photo or fishing story.
