Good morning WOT fans! As you know our Halfway to Halloween event is coming up on April 29th and we are so excited to have everyone come out and see what we’ve been working on. We also wanted to announce for those who are not aware that one of our actors/managers, Erika Jones (also known as Lucy Lucifer) was diagnosed with a rare lung cancer last month. We will be donating a percentage of proceeds from this event to her GoFundMe to go towards her medical bills. We will have a way for you to donate at the ticket booth as well.

I’ve had to hold this info from social media since March 23rd, but today I can announce that “The Book of Haunters V9: Sisterhood of Haunters Returns” won the Blurb “Up In Lights” competition. The panels of judges loved the book, and combined with coming in #1 with votes, that secured the win. Therefore, the book will be featured on a bright digital billboard in Times Square in NYC from April 17th thru April 23rd. I will be in NYC for the week, and the head PR guru of Blurb will be in Times Square on the 22nd for a photoshoot and interview. If you can make it to Times Square, please do on that date so pics can be taken!

I cannot begin to express the elation and shock at winning this competition. Who would have thought when I started “The Book of Haunters” series way back when, that a volume would end up on a billboard in NYC? I have to thank the entire haunt community that I have been part of for the past 10 years (almost 7 with HAH). You have all accepted and welcomed me and Haunters Against Hate with love and caring and always showing support. You turned out the vote and made sure Volume 9 came in #1 and I will never, ever forget that. It gives me such a feeling of happiness to know that I have this big, wonderful spooky family behind me and the organization I’ve worked so hard on. I also have to thank all the amazing women in Volume 9: I am honored to have each and every one of you in the book and am so thrilled that this volume is going to be on the billboard to show that women are a major force in the haunt industry. From the bottom of heart, I thank you ALL...the owners, the actors, the makeup artists, the security personnel and all the behind-the-scenes crews. I will continue to work hard to keep Haunters Against Hate an organization that fights against hate and looks out for the LGBTQ+ community (youth in particular), especially in these divisive and troubling times.
