Precursors to my finals project in progress for Drawing 2 at

Unfinished, but not forever

Multimedia on found paper

I've been grappling with these internal negative feelings that I've been traveling with forever. Maybe, if I can give those feelings a voice, we'll both be better understood.

Memento Mori (Not Everything Grows)
Charcoal drawing

Part of my Drawing 1 class final.

I've been holding onto so much grief in the last several months. I came to class crying around this time. With the infinite wisdom of someone who has experienced loss, my teacher told me to channel all the pain into the art.
This arrangement spoke to me in the still life we drew from.
The book, the children's toys, the skull.

Reminiscent of the Dutch Vanitas that I'm so inspired by, this Memento Mori holds the pain in the grief of losing all the possibility of a small life. We are ever reminded that we all pass on.

Like Miyazaki works, so much of my work shows a surface narrative that's almost universally felt. The work also subtle hidden narratives that is a call to empathy from others who understand.

It's like my heart is saying "I'll share with you this pain if you'll hold this moment with me, if you'll witness these emotions within me are within you"

This drawing holds a profound sorrow; not everything grows

START A FIRE
Monoprint, Akua Soy Ink

Every time we open our phones, we're bombarded with so much hate, fear, sadness, powerlessness. The news is sensationalized, we're shown what they want us to see. It's fear-mongering, it's gaslighting- All to keep us quiet, fearful, numb.

The people at the "top" use our blood, sweat, and tears to run their capitalist machine. REAL LIVES like mine and yours are wordlessly, mindlessly affected with their greedy impact.

Water, food, and safety aren't just slipping through our hands, the monsters at the top are taking it directly from our palms. The system isn't broken, it's working perfectly. We use our voices and our pleas are dumped into the trash.

We need to get ANGRY. I am ANGRY.
They're resorting to violence and stealing citizens off our streets while we march loudly.

We must stand up, wake up, DO SOMETHING.

Start a damn fire.

India Ink and Handmade Botanical Ink, handmade tools

Visual Concepts coursework

Prompt was to create "wallpaper" using texture and repetition.
I really had a blast with these. I'm surprised how the botanical inks actually changed over time, some of the greens I put down turned into that mauve. It gave the work a life of its own.

This coursework coincided with some pretty hard situations during the summer. Death and sickness.
Having these art classes over the summer became a touchstone to the present moment, a place where I could take off the heaviness of circumstance and transmute all of it into these creations.

I'll be posting more art from these classes!

How beautiful it is to take a paper of nothing and mark it, line after line.

Which one is your favorite!

Collagraph Monotypes Triptych
Soy-based ink on paper

I felt privileged to work with the vintage etching press at . It had quite the journey, returning to its old home after some time away.

Revisiting the press after my ARTery residency in Holyoke was a blast. We worked on a few projects that I'll be sharing soon.

I adore the organic chaos of this medium, combining handmade stencils with found textures. It was both thrilling and exasperating. A recent read reminded me that frustration often signifies learning, and boy, have I learned a lot in these past seven weeks! I'm grateful for the experience. Stay tuned for more art from my studio classes.

Still Life, Charcoal on drawing paper

Drawing 1 classwork. My first complete charcoal drawing for the class. Also my first complete charcoal drawing!

It took me coming back to it again to notice the subtler details, but I think I have a good eye for noticing things like the highlight reflections on the bottles.

This class is ending tomorrow (😭😭), so I'll be posting school work for a bit. However, I just snuck into Drawing 2 for the Fall Semester!!

Lots of school work! Enjoying the heck out of it.

Throwback Friday~

On this Day 4 years ago, used Twitch channel points to redeem a doodle of an Elizabethan Raccoon... And with a simple request, Alleyway Royalty was born.

I will forever have such a place in my heart for this blockprint series and the community around my art channel.

The lino, after so many prints, shows, and love is nearly ready for retirement.

In the planning stages for a final and limited edition of the Royal Four that should be ready for the holiday vending season

Keep an eye out! Lots of art being made over here and lots that I'm queueing up to share.

Lots of love! 💜🦝🔥

Classwork for Visual Design - Pochoir printing with soy-based ink.

This was actually my second design, after doing two prints of my first stencils, I was already brewing some more ideas about creating texture and different values. After class, I spent some time looking at other classmates works and how they created form, texture, value, and different compositions.

Our next class is about collagraph prints and using textured plates. So what I'm thinking is that I'm going to play with these new ideas, my composition and more values when it comes to this piece.

I have been absolutely loving school and feel like I'm learning so much already.

Some behind the scenes of the work that went into the pieces of Transcendent Ink: The Nature of Q***r Belonging.

+ Work in Progress of this birch woodblock imagery of a black oak (I'm almost certain lol).
+ I collected that birch bark from the ground in Greenfield, ironed it, and glued it for "Hills Older Than Bones," which I typed up on my Smith-Corona typewriter. Love that machine!
+ Testing my "Good People Disobey" print on some paint swatches that I hoarded from when I worked at HD.
+ Because I'm a creative madman, I tried cyanotypes and anthotypes for the first time! I made the resist for the turmeric anthotype with a binder sleeve, and the resist for the cyanotypes for "Everything Passes" is tracing paper I printed on with my inkjet and oiled to be more clear. Mad. Man. I definitely want to try anthotypes again; it was so easy to try!!

Transcendent Ink is a printmaking exhibition that I'm in with and .theory.arts and I'm so excited to have some of my works on show with such amazing professionals. Check them out at our show this month!

Our show is ready!

Transcendent Ink: The Nature of Q***r Belonging will be showing on weekends through July from 11am-5pm!

Reception on July 20th, 2025 from 1-5pm!

Jasper, Pascale, Emet, and I have put so much love and hard work into this printmaking exhibition.

I'm so excited to have been able to try out so many forms of printmaking- Dry point etching, cyanotype, anthotype, wood Blockprint, and some really fun new techniques with lino blockprint like chine-collé.

I feel so dang lucky to have been able to work so closely with other transmasc printmakers in Western MA. I hope our audience can really see the similarities and differences between our works as they coalesce in this artistic ecosystem we've created.

I hope to see folks at the Leverett Crafts and Arts center on the weekends or at the reception!

Love y'all! 💜💜
