THE GUYS - Opening tomorrow!

For 25 years, we’ve remembered September 11. 2001. Tomorrow, we remember the people behind the names.

Thank you to the Greeneville Fire Department for allowing cast member, Josh Beddingfield, and production team member, Kristin Girton, to come to the station. They had the opportunity to tour the Carson Street Station, learn about the fire department dress uniform, talk about memories from 9/11, and take some promotional photos of Josh for THE GUYS. Thank you also to Chief Alan Shipley for also letting Greeneville Theatre Guild borrow a dress uniform for the show.

Twenty-five years later,
we remember the date.
But do we remember the people?

The Guys invites us to look beyond the headlines and remember the lives behind the names—their humor, their quirks, their friendships, their stories.

SO… WHAT IS THE GUYS ABOUT?

If you’ve never heard of THE GUYS, you might assume it’s a play about September 11th.

It is—but not in the way you might expect.

It’s about what comes after the headlines.

A fire captain. A writer. A conversation about how to tell the stories of people who can no longer tell them themselves.

It’s funny. Heartbreaking. Surprising. Deeply human.

You won’t see the tragedy recreated onstage.

You’ll meet the people behind it.

And you may leave thinking about the people whose stories you carry.

Some performances demand more than memorizing lines. They ask an actor to remember, to feel, and to tell a story that deserves to be heard.

Josh Beddingfield takes the stage as "Nick" in THE GUYS—a man carrying the memories of people who meant more to him than words can easily express.

Through Nick, Josh reminds us that the people we remember aren’t defined by how they left us, but by how they lived, how they loved, how they made us laugh, and the mark they left on those around them.

There’s something special about an actor who can make you laugh, make you listen, and then—without warning—make you feel something deeply.

Paige Mengel brings that kind of heart to the stage as "Joan" in THE GUYS.

Through Joan, Paige helps us discover that sometimes the most powerful stories aren’t about extraordinary events—they’re about ordinary people and the little things that made them extraordinary to those who knew them.

Before they were names on a list, they were husbands. Fathers. Brothers. Friends. Coworkers.

They laughed. They annoyed each other. They told stories. They lived ordinary lives that mattered deeply to the people who knew them.
