The studio is quiet, the tables stand still,
The last brush was washed with a satisfied thrill.
The paints have been capped, the palettes wiped clean,
As we wait for the judges to see what we’ve seen.
Mushrooms with whimsy, tucked under the trees,
Bunnies with charm that bring smiles with ease.
A haunted village with shadows at night,
A hoot owl watching in the soft fair light.
A proud little cow with a curious stare,
A scarecrow standing with autumn to share.
And a big green frog with a grin wide and bright,
Sitting so proudly, ready to leap into the spotlight.
Each piece tells a story, each stroke made with care,
A little bit of the artist is always left there.
From tiny details to colors that blend,
Every creation is a masterpiece, a friend.
Now the ribbons are waiting, their colors untold,
Whether purple or not, every piece shines like gold.
For the joy wasn’t found in the prize we pursue—
It was laughter, creation, and dreams coming true.
So today, as the judging begins at the fair,
May pride fill each heart for the love that is there.
And if purple ribbons happen to come into view,
May they honor the passion poured into what you do.
Because when the studio grows quiet and the fair lights glow,
The magic of ceramics is the memories we sow.
Good luck to all the Sweet Gum Ceramic kiddos!!! I’m so proud of all your hard work this year!!!
