Perks of teaching tie dye, making art for myself!

When you make art it has layers, although I do love watermelon 🍉 and fondly remember picking it with my cousins on our grandfather's farm, tossing them assembly line into the bulk box. This dress was made to support Palestine. I will have to think what else I can do or add to the dress to show my support.

Making art is so much better than war and violence.

I'm privileged to have a back yard I can use to rinse the dye.

Then put foam inside the sock and made needle felt hair.

Last week I picked 8 cups of cherries with help from my teenager ❤️.
It took a few hours to pit them all.

A few days later I combined the cherries with elderberry juice sugar and lemon and cooked it for a while until it made a v drip from the wooden spoon.

I always put my cans ( glass jar) in a water bath for at least 5 minutes. That way I can safely store my goodies for later. 6 months- year at least.

In our neighborhood there are fruit trees that were planted to consume. I try to honor the tree by trimming it and eating the fruits, that I take. ❤️

We love playing Push it! By Salt n Peppa!
The band was actually supposed to be still, we were getting our Tin Type done, that's right! A tin type!!! We had to stay still for 30 seconds. I was asked, what does pride mean to me?

Pride is love 🌈💗🫂
I had these leis and added them to my gardening hat, it's very full..... 🌸🌺🌼🌸🌺🌼

and, Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing's going to get better, it's not. (The lorax)

I made my UNLESS tapestry from a shower curtain and scraps of fabric. And special extra strong hold, double sided interfacing.

I'm teaching an upcycle and mending class this summer, at recreation arts greenbeltmd.gov sign up today!

And tie dye Artful afternoon workshops this Sunday and next Sunday!

I can't and you can't do any of these things if ICE takes you. Look out for each other.
