Come and screenprint these awesome MPS Budget Fight posters for your classroom and next week's Thursday Central Office Mass Picket! Today and tomorrow, April 18 and 19, MTEA is taking part in a two-day art build at the Voces de la Frontera office (737 W. Mitchell St.) from 10am to 5pm both days. MTEA members and Youth Empowered in the Struggle (YES) students can make May Day signs supporting immigrant rights and economic justice as well as signs with messaging for our budget fight with the district, like "Cut Contracts, not Classrooms!" and "FULL 2.63% COLA July 1st!"

We spent an amazing Saturday collaborating with Green Bay Education Association (GBEA) members painting a bunch of banners including a 24-foot parachute banner. We also screen printed patches and assembled picket signs on majestic blue sticks union members painted and will proudly carry in Green Bay's coming Holiday Parade in support of strong public schools and strong communities.

We continue to prepare banners for the coming August 16th Friends Across Borders Day of International Friendship. Communities and groups across the continent will reaffirm our bonds of friendship across borders. Actions will take place on the U.S. - Canadian and U.S - Mexico borders as well in locations across the country to highlight solidarity between border communities against the Trump agenda.

We worked previously with organizers on the Not Another Foot banners against the US-Mexico border wall, but this work and outreach is only the beginning as we build an international movement across Mexico, Canada, and the United States, based on friendship, solidarity, and respect.

We joined Women's March in Madison, Wisconsin for a community circus 🎪called . This bold, creative action mirrored the chaos MAGA has sown across the country.

MAGA Republicans want to control us and decide our futures for us, taking away our freedom to get the care we need, vote in fair elections and decide whether and when we grow our families. We are ready to kick out the political clowns, and end the greatest s**t show on Earth.

Together, we set a national record for the most circuses held in a single day while simultaneously refusing to celebrate a petty clown who desperately wants to be seen as strong.

When you elect clowns 🤡, you don’t get leaders — the country becomes a circus 🎪

Check out the art created for this weekend's Montgomery County Education Association (MCEA) Art Build in Washington D.C. MCEA teachers are preparing for this week's . The district is also in the process of forming their next budget. What better way to appreciate teachers than to fully fund the budget? We hope they do the right thing and give teachers the staffing and resources they need in the budget to ensure all students excel.
