Today marks 25 years since September 11, 2001.
Twenty-five years since a day that changed our world and changed countless lives forever.
This year, the anniversary carries a particularly profound meaning for us at Stage Ten Seventeen. Through Come From Away, we have spent months sitting with the stories of that day not only the unimaginable loss and fear, but also the extraordinary humanity that emerged in its aftermath.
Weโve been reminded of the thousands of lives lost, the families forever changed, the first responders who ran toward danger, and the countless acts of courage and compassion that followed.
And weโve learned more deeply about what happened hundreds of miles away in Newfoundland, where ordinary people opened their homes, schools, churches, kitchens, and hearts to complete strangers stranded far from home.
At its core, Come From Away has reminded us that even on one of humanityโs darkest days, people chose to take care of one another.
Today is not about our production.
Today, we simply remember.
We remember those who were lost.
We honor those who helped.
We hold close those who still carry the weight of that day.
And 25 years later, may we continue to choose kindness, generosity, and each other.
September 11, 2001.
We remember. โค๏ธ
