Last night I went to check out the new nightclub Industry here in Great Falls in the Prospector building on 10th Ave S.
I plan on writing a review, but as a friend mentioned to me, it might not be fair to review a place based on its opening night because a lot of issues are still being worked out.
What I am doing, though, is offering some first impressions with the stipulation that some of this may change.
Upon walking in, it "feels" like a nightclub. The stage area is well lit, it's rather clean looking and there were lots of people already there when we arrived. The crowd was quite diverse. Young people, old people and male/female. Toward the end of the night it did feel like there were more males than females there though.
One thing I did notice is that there's a very noticeable urban setting to it. A cowboy bar this is not, and that's a good thing.
There's a lot of neon throughout and the band did a decent job at performing a wide array of songs before the DJ started cranking the dance tunes around 11.
One other thing that I noticed right away is that you can hear the music quite well even if you're not sitting right next to the stage.
It has a pretty solid floor plan. If you want to dance there's space for that, if you want to sit and drink/eat there's space for that and if you want to gamble at the machines, there's that, too.
I'll wrap it up by saying overall my first impression is that it's a clean, open place that may end up offering something a little different here to Great Falls.
