📣 We’re hiring! Join our Farmstand concession team!
The Lake County Fair Association is looking for a dependable Concession Stand Attendant at the Lake County Fairgrounds & Event Center in Grayslake!
We’re a nonprofit organization that organizes the annual Lake County Fair and rents our facilities to independent promoters and organizations that produce their own events throughout the year. Our Farmstand concession stand is operated by the Fair Association, with proceeds helping support our nonprofit’s operations and the upkeep of the fairgrounds.
💵 $18 per hour
📅 Event-based hours that vary by month. Some months may have only a few shifts, while busier months may include every weekend. Most shifts are Saturdays and Sundays, with occasional Fridays and evenings.
Duties include:
• Assembling orders of prepared food, including hot dogs, nachos, pizza, pulled pork sandwiches, and soup.
• Bringing completed orders from the kitchen to the nearby service window and handing them to customers.
• Helping set up before opening and restocking food, beverages, and supplies.
• Cleaning the concession stand, work areas, and equipment after closing.
• Following food safety procedures and assisting with other tasks assigned by the supervisor.
We’re looking for someone who is:
• Dependable, punctual, friendly, and comfortable serving customers.
• Organized and able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.
• Able to follow instructions and work well with a team.
• Comfortable standing for extended periods and lifting and carrying supplies as needed.
Previous food service or concession experience is preferred.
Applicants must have a food handler certificate or complete the required course during orientation. The course can be completed on-site, and the Lake County Fair Association pays for it.
