In a closing ceremony Sunday, the work of 70 artists, whose art was featured in the Great Northern Art Explosion, will be narrowed down to those who will be recognized and awarded top prizes.

The closing ceremony will be held at the AuSable Artisan Village Performing Arts Center, beginning at 2 p.m.

The AAV Performing Arts Center is located at 122 Michigan Ave., Grayling. For information on the Great Northern Art Explosion or the closing ceremony, call the AAV at (989) 745-6096.

Auditions are this week! Join us Tuesday and Thursday night to try out for our fall show — no experience necessary! We welcome faces familiar and fresh to our stage, so if you’ve been looking for a way to get involved in the community, make new friends, and create art with others, this is your opportunity!

We’ll also have opportunities for people to get involved backstage, so if you want to participate but don’t want to be onstage, keep an eye on our social media!

Today was display day for the upcoming Great Northern Art Explosion!

After a long day of hanging, arranging, moving, rearranging, the show is really starting to come together. We still have a few more days to make some final refinements, but we can already tell you this years exhibit is going to be incredible.

And judging by the look on our Executive Director Del’s face… it was a LONG day. 😴

Come see it for yourself at the opening reception this Friday from 6–8 PM at the AuSable Artisan Village Performing Arts Center, 122 Michigan Ave in downtown Grayling.

The 2026 Great Northern Art Explosion runs August 21–September 6 and is free and open to the public. Cast your vote for your favorite artworks with people’s choice voting!
