Kids will talk to the animals in Dr. Dolittle
Fiddlehead Center for Art & Science is pleased to announce the cast of the upcoming children's show, Dr. Dolittle, a full length new musical featuring actors aged 8 thru 16. The 57 young actors come from 13 towns representing 22 different schools and five homeschoolers. The well loved tale of the country doctor who learns to talk to the animals will include youth puppeteers playing Polynesia the parrot, Chee Chee the monkey, Jip the dog, Gub Gub the pig and Dab Dab the Duck and many more. Leading roles were awarded to Zachary Fisher of Sabattus as Dr. Dolittle, Dexter Castro of New Gloucester as Matthew Mugg, Brie Butler of Gray as Emma Fairfax and Kyle Sidders of Cumberland as Tommy. Tammy Fisher directs. This MTI show will premiere in Maine the last two weekends of March. In addition to the main cast, students from Fiddlehead Center's winter session theater classes for ages 4-12 will be offered cameos in the production.
