Music in the Mountains Music in the Mountains (MIM) inspires and connects people of all ages through extraordinary music performances, community engagement, and music education.

A nonprofit organization, MIM was founded in 1982 and is supported by the community. MIM's Comment Policy:

While we encourage fans to share thoughts and opinions on MIM's social media pages, we expect it to be done in a respectful manner. MIM does not agree with or endorse every comment that individuals post on our pages. Our goal is to share ideas and information with as many people as possible

and our policy is to accepts the majority of comments made to our profile. Therefore a comment will be deleted if it contains:
Hate speech
Profanity, Vulgarity
N**e profile pictures
Defamation to a person or peoples'
Name calling and/or personal attacks
Comments whose main purpose is to sell a product
Spam comments
As well as any comments the MIM deems inappropriate

All links posted as comments on MIM's profiles will be monitored and possibly deleted
Repeated violations may result in being blocked from the page
While we understand that social media is a 24/7 medium, however our moderation capabilities are not. We may not see every inappropriate comment right away, we are trusting in the maturity of our community to ignore personal attacks and negative speech and respond politely.

Welcome Omari Tau — baritone, storyteller, genre-bender — back to the stage at the Center for the Arts.

Tau brings his signature blend of classical music, musical theater and jazz to the Center for the Arts, joined by his close friends and collaborators pianist Graham Sobelman and cellist Natalie Hagwood for an evening built on friendship as much as artistry.

Expect a love letter to Americana: dramatic works by Kurt Weill, a Fats Waller classic from Ain't Misbehavin', a Cab Calloway-style take on "It Ain't Necessarily So" from Porgy and Bess, and selections from Tau's own new album, Safe Thus Far.

What's that sound? Is it your old horn or viola, gathering dust in the corner, calling out to be played again? MIMYO isn't just for kids. Music in the Mountains Youth Orchestra (MIMYO) is a premier classical symphony program for young (and young at heart!) string, woodwind, brass, and percussion players. Grow your skills in a supportive, driven, fun environment and connect with passionate, talented musicians to create amazing music together as a team. Shake that dust off and return to your instrument. Your violin will thank you.

Today marks Erin Beatie's first anniversary with Music in the Mountains as our Production Manager!

Over the past year, Erin has helped bring our concerts, rehearsals, and special events to life. While audiences enjoy the performances on stage, she's often behind the scenes making sure hundreds of details come together so each event runs smoothly.

When asked what she enjoys most about her work, Erin's answer was simple:
"Creating memorable experiences for people to enjoy."

Her passion for creating meaningful experiences shines through in every event she helps bring to life. If you've attended a Music in the Mountains event this season, you've experienced the care and attention Erin brings to every performance.
