Message to OLLI Orchestra Musicians
from Maestro Wayland Whitney

I will not be returning to conduct the OLLI Orchestra this Fall. This was not an easy decision to make, but a combination of factors made it necessary.

I'm so proud of the work we've done together. The quality of your playing, your musicianship, and your dedication inspires me, and I am so grateful to you for the opportunity to lead this fine orchestra. Almost everything we did together was music I had never conducted before (bird-themed or otherwise!).

I am very pleased to welcome Michael McAllister as the next Music Director and conductor of the OLLI Orchestra! Mike is a longtime Nevada County musician, educator, composer, and conductor, and he is very excited to take the reins.

Rosin your bows, dust off the music stand, and get signed up for the Fall - keep making great music together, and I'll be in the audience for your next concert.
