Wait, is the Grapevine High Band about to be in a Riley Green music video?! 👀

If you’re not immediately familiar with the name Riley Green, you’re about to be. He’s one of the biggest names in country music right now, known for hits like “Different ‘Round Here,” “I Wish Grandpas Never Died” and his epic collab with Ella Langley “You Look Like You Love Me.” And now, he’s bringing a little Grapevine into his next project. 🤠

This Friday, September 18, the Grapevine High band is getting a pretty incredible spotlight.

The GHS Band Booster Club tells us Live Nation is sending a film crew to the GHS football game to capture the band performing one of Riley Green’s new releases…footage that could be used in an upcoming music video! 🎥🎶

The filming will take place during the second half of the game, so if you’re there, keep your eyes on the band. You might just be watching a future music video being made right in front of you!

This shoot will take place the same day Green’s new album “That’s Just Me” releases. So you’d imagine this will be for a song off that new project.

And this isn’t the band’s first time mixing it up with some big names. They’ve already been part of collaborations involving Post Malone. 👀

From the football field in Grapevine to a Riley Green music video, this one could be NEXT LEVEL.

How cool is this?! 🍇🎺🎶

HERITAGE IS ROLLING! 🔥🐾 A few weeks ago, Colleyville Heritage was trying to find its footing after a tough season-opening loss to Anna.

Now?

The Panthers are looking like a completely different team. 👀

The offense has absolutely come alive over the last two weeks, putting up 92 points in back-to-back wins and showing just how explosive this group can be.

Lane Vargas is playing with confidence. Trevi Preische continues to be a difference-maker. And suddenly, this Heritage offense looks like one that could give some teams serious problems when the playoffs roll around. 🏈🔥

The Panthers are 2-1, and while there’s still plenty of football to play, it’s hard not to start wondering just how far this team can go.

But now comes the big test.

Next Friday, Heritage travels to take on undefeated Richland, which enters the matchup 3-0 after putting up 51 points in its last game.

2-1 Panthers. 3-0 Royals.

If Heritage is ready to make a run, this is the kind of game that can tell us a lot.

Sometimes a win is about so much more than what happened on the scoreboard.

For the Grapevine Mustangs, Friday night was a moment worth celebrating.

After some incredibly tough years, these students have continued to show up. They’ve kept working, kept believing and kept grinding to help get this program back on track.

And Friday night, they got to see that work pay off. 🏈🔥

The Mustangs picked up their first win of the season, 24-12 over Fossil Ridge, improving to 1-2 on the year.

But the biggest story isn’t the record.

It’s the progress.

It’s the players who have stuck with it. The coaches who continue to pour into them. The families who keep showing up. And an entire Mustang community that wants to see these kids succeed.

For a program that has been through some challenging seasons, Friday night was a reminder that the work matters.

And maybe most importantly, these students got to experience what it feels like when all that hard work finally turns into a win.

Today, we celebrate them. ❤️

The Rise of the Vine is underway. 🍇🐎🔥

HERITAGE LIT UP THE SCOREBOARD! 🏈 The Panthers put on an absolute offensive show Friday night, rolling past Mansfield Legacy 55–21 in a non-district matchup.

And it didn't take long for the fireworks to start!

Colleyville Heritage scored on 7 of its first 9 possessions, including a jaw-dropping 38 points in the first quarter alone. 😳

Quarterback Lane Vargas had a monster night, accounting for six touchdowns as the Panthers' offense kept rolling. And once again, Trevi Preische came up big at receiver with another huge performance.

After dropping the season opener to Anna, the Panthers have now bounced back with two straight wins and are 2–1 on the season. 🔥

Next up? Another big test.

The Panthers travel to Richland next Friday, Sept. 18, to take on the undefeated Royals, who enter the game 3–0 after a 51–32 win over Brewer.

Colleyville Heritage vs. Richland. 2–1 vs. 3–0. This one should be fun! 🐾🏈

Southlake Carroll ran into a powerhouse Friday night! 🏈

The Dragons hosted Allen at home and for a little while, it looked like we might be in for a wild one.

Carroll and Allen were tied 14–14 after the first quarter, with both offenses finding their rhythm. Then Allen shifted into another gear.

The Eagles erupted for 21 points in the second quarter to take a 35–21 halftime lead, then added 14 more in the third to build a 49–28 advantage.

Carroll never stopped fighting and scored in every quarter, but Allen always seemed to have an answer, eventually pulling away for a 56–35 win over the Dragons.

For Southlake Carroll, it's now a 1–2 start to the season. The Dragons will look to bounce back next week against Keller Central.

A big thanks to Feedstore BBQ & More for sponsoring our coverage of Southlake football. Get out and enjoy some brisket this weekend!

The Grapevine Mustangs are back in the win column! 🏈

Grapevine picked up its first victory of the season Friday night, defeating Fossil Ridge 24-12 and giving Mustang fans another reason to believe that The Rise of the Vine is real. The win was just the program's second over the past three seasons, making it a significant milestone for a team that continues to take meaningful steps forward.

The Mustangs built a 14-0 halftime lead behind a dazzling 50-yard touchdown run from Colton Williams and a clutch fake punt conversion that helped set up Jake Graham's first touchdown of the night. Graham added a second rushing score in the fourth quarter, while Austin Schilling contributed a field goal as Grapevine pulled away.

The defense was equally impressive, forcing multiple punts and a key turnover on downs that helped seal the victory.

No one is hanging championship banners after Week 3, but for a program that has fought through some challenging seasons, Friday night felt like another sign of progress. Grapevine is now 1-2 and will look to keep the momentum rolling next week when the Mustangs return home to host a 1-2 Newman Smith squad.

The Rise of the Vine is on! 🐎🔥

The Panthers enter the matchup with a 1-1 record after bouncing back from their season-opening loss with an impressive 34-23 road win over Midlothian Heritage.

Heritage's offense has put up big numbers through the first two weeks. Senior running back Gabriel Bess has added balance to the attack on the ground, and the Panthers have scored 65 points in their first two contests.

Earlier this year, we told you about the passing of Thomas “Tom” McCurry Sr., the man behind Colleyville’s iconic Big Red Tree. 🎄❤️

The tree was Tom’s gift to the community. It was a Christmas tradition that brought families and neighbors together year after year.

So when he passed, many wondered: Would the Big Red Tree return?

The answer is YES. ❤️🎄

A beautiful reminder that some gestures speak louder than words. ✈️❤️

American Airlines flight attendant Candace Torian shared this beautiful photo of a bouquet of flowers left at the 9/11 Memorial in Grapevine by the flight attendants and pilots of Southwest Airlines.

The flowers were placed to honor the flight crews and all those whose lives were lost on September 11, 2001.

Two airlines. One industry. One shared loss. And a simple, heartfelt gesture of remembrance. 🇺🇸

Another Friday Night Test for Grapevine! 🏈

The Grapevine Mustangs will be back on the road Friday night looking to pick up their first win of the season when they travel to Keller to take on Fossil Ridge.

Grapevine enters the game at 0-2, but there have been plenty of bright spots offensively. The Mustangs have rushed for more than 500 yards through their first two games, led by junior running back Jake Graham, who is averaging 149 rushing yards per game and has scored three touchdowns.

Fossil Ridge is also seeking its first victory, setting up an intriguing matchup between two teams eager to get back on track before district play begins. With both squads looking to avoid an 0-3 start, expect plenty of intensity under the Friday night lights.

GAME OF THE WEEK: Southlake Carroll vs. Allen 🐉 🏈

One of the biggest high school football games in Texas this week is happening right here in Southlake. Carroll has yet another top-tier opponent to kick off the 2026 season...

The Dragons (1-1) welcome nationally ranked Allen (2-0) to Dragon Stadium for a matchup featuring two of the state's most recognizable programs. Allen enters the game unbeaten and ranked No. 10 nationally by MaxPreps, while Carroll comes in ranked No. 55.

The numbers suggest this could be a clash of styles. Carroll has been explosive through the air, averaging 312 passing yards and 375 total yards per game behind quarterback Hudson Tomcheck. Allen has relied on a more balanced attack and is averaging 38 points per game through its first two contests.

Players to watch include Carroll quarterback Hudson Tomcheck and standout receiver Brody Knowles, who is averaging 112 receiving yards per contest. Allen is led by dual-threat quarterback Ty Snell, who averages 205 total yards per game.

With statewide and national attention focused on Southlake, expect a playoff-type atmosphere for this early-season showdown.

Prediction time: Who ya got tonight, Dragons fans? 🏈🔥 The only thing we'll predict is a brisket sandwich for lunch Saturday at Feedstore BBQ. A big shout-out to that crew for sponsoring our Southlake coverage!

Today’s march through Grapevine was far more than a tribute.

As dozens of first responders walked through Historic Downtown Grapevine, each wore the name and photograph of someone lost on September 11, 2001. Around their necks were the faces of firefighters, police officers, EMTs and flight crew members who never came home that day.

Twenty-five years later, it’s easy to talk about the numbers. But today wasn’t about numbers. It was about people.

With every step, participants carried the memory of a hero, someone who answered a call, served others, boarded a flight, or rushed toward danger when others were running away.

Seeing those names and faces transformed the march into something deeply personal and incredibly moving. For a few moments, the men and women we lost weren’t just part of history. They were right there with us.

It was a powerful reminder that “Never Forget” isn’t just a phrase. It’s a promise. And today, Grapevine honored that promise in one of the most beautiful ways possible. 🇺🇸❤️

We don’t know the story behind this photo, but how beautiful is it? 😢 🇺🇸

A firefighter leaning over a young boy during a September 11 remembrance event. It’s a simple moment that somehow says so much.

September 11 is a reminder to love the people around us, hold our loved ones a little closer, and never take a moment for granted.

Because life can change in an instant.

Never forget. 🇺🇸

09/11/2026

A powerful sight unfolded in Grapevine this morning.

Dozens of uniformed first responders marched through Historic Downtown Grapevine as part of MARCH 455, honoring the firefighters, police officers, flight crews, and EMS personnel who lost their lives responding to the attacks of September 11, 2001.

As the nation marks 25 years since that tragic day, the march served as a moving reminder of the bravery, sacrifice and unity that emerged from one of America’s darkest moments.

Thank you to all who participated and helped keep the memory of those heroes alive.

1,980 steps. 110 floors. One powerful reminder. 🇺🇸

This morning, the Grapevine High School wrestling team gathered at Mustang-Panther Stadium for its annual 9/11 Tribute Climb, joined by first responders, veterans, community leaders and local families.

Together, they climbed approximately 1,980 stadium steps — representing the 110 floors of the World Trade Center towers.

For the students taking part, September 11, 2001 is something they learned about in history class. They weren’t alive to witness it.

But this tradition gives them a way to understand the courage and sacrifice of the first responders who climbed those towers to help others, many never making it back down.

The climb also honors the nearly 3,000 people who lost their lives that day and the countless others whose lives were forever changed.

Now in its seventh year, the GHS wrestling tradition continues to make sure the lessons of September 11 are remembered; not just as history, but through service, sacrifice, courage and community.

🇺🇸 We remember. We honor. We will never forget.
