Update: We closed at 6:30pm due to the water pressure and the chemical situation today.
Tomorrow we will pick up as normal and as long as weather permits and no more complications we will stay open!

We apologize for the inconvenience, but the Grantville Splash Pad will be closed today due to unforeseen circumstances.

We are hoping to reopen around 4:30 PM today, but unfortunately, we cannot make any promises at this time.

I will continue to post updates here on Facebook throughout the day and let everyone know as soon as we are able to reopen.

⛈️ Splash Pad Weather Update

We are currently experiencing isolated thunderstorms in the area. At this time, I have not heard any additional thunder, so the splash pad remains open.

For everyone's safety, we do follow standard lightning and thunder safety guidelines. If thunder is heard or lightning is observed, the splash pad must be cleared and activities suspended immediately. The National Weather Service and CDC recommend waiting at least 30 minutes after the LAST sound of thunder before resuming outdoor water activities. If thunder is heard again during that waiting period, the 30-minute clock starts over.

Even when a storm appears to be moving away or there is blue sky nearby, lightning can still strike several miles from the storm.

I will continue monitoring the weather. If the thunderstorms continue or we hear thunder again, I will have to temporarily shut the splash pad down until it is safe to reopen.

Since we are unable to do kickball tonight with the heat. I will keep the splash pad open later!

Unfortunately, we are still under a heat advisory, so there will be no kickball tonight. We want to make sure everyone stays safe in this heat. We’ll see everyone next Friday!

Mrs. Ashlie will be at the Splash Pad Tuesday–Friday until we close for the season!

If you didn’t get a chance to come out during summer break, or it was just a little too crowded for your little one, school hours are the perfect time to visit! Come out between 11 AM–2 PM when it’s a little quieter.

Whether you’re home with a toddler, have little ones who aren’t in school yet, or you homeschool, take advantage of the quieter hours! I’ll have music playing for the kids, and we can even turn on some Danny Go! and have ourselves a little splash pad dance party. 😂🎶💦

Pack a snack, bring the little ones, and come enjoy the Splash Pad before the season is over!
