Join us in celebrating the unveiling of 7 new Public Art Milestone Markers that will soon be placed in the Town of Grantsville!

The event will take place Thursday June 25th at 4pm. We’ll gather on the lawn in front of the Gallery Shop, Too and each artist will have the opportunity to unveil their Milestones! We hope you can join us for this event celebrating the artists, and their work.

Adding to the 4 existing milestones in town, local artists have recently completed 7 new hand painted milestones. Artists include:

- Northern Middle School students under the direction of Jenny Wampler.
- Northern High School students under the direction of Melinda Bishoff.
- Reign Danger
- Makayla Maule-Durst
- Marilyn Savage-Remley
- Heather (Prince) Togbetse
Open HeART Space, LLC
Art & Wellness Studio
- Nicole Zanoni
Birchwood Artist Studio LLC

A formal dedication ceremony will take place later this fall after the completion, and installation, of the remaining 5 Public Art Milestone Markers, for a total of 16 throughout the town!

This project is supported by the Maryland State Arts Council. We’re grateful for the Public Art Across Maryland Grant, and the support to create public art in our wonderful town. The Milestone Project is also supported in part by Woodmen Life, the Garrett County Arts Council, the Town of Grantsville and Duane Stein II.

One of the unique features of the artist village is that it facilities collaboration between artists. Check out this new series of work with our painter and metalsmith. Mike made the sculptural frames from copper and Ivana made the paintings! Until they're gone, they're living in Ivana's shop. Be sure to check them and the village out this weekend!
