EXCITING NEWS: I painted this 5 years ago when moving to Oregon was just a pipe dream. Now it’s real and I pinch myself every day. But to add a cherry on top, my painting was selected to adorn the city bus as part of their mobile gallery. Thank you and for being the my landscape model. I love painting vineyards. And now that I live amongst them expect a lot more. I’ll take a pic of the bus once it’s up

If I just wait a few more weeks to post this then it will have been a year since my last post. And what a year it’s been. Lots of bad. Some very bad. And some very good. In a brief summary I lost both cats, my job and worst of all, my mother. I broke my hand (good excuse not to paint for a while but not a year), I sold my house and moved to Oregon. That last one is the “very good” thing to happen to me. Which is another reason I haven’t been painting: moving and all that goes with it. Plus I’m exploring, hiking, biking, shopping, eating, drinking and living. I’ve finally slowed my roll long enough to try painting again and it’s hard. It was never easy but I really forgot how. Here is my first painting of 2026 and hope more to follow. ❤️

While on the Joy theme, I thought I’d finish one I had started years ago. Sometimes I’ll start something and soon it goes into my ever growing frustrated pile, only to be forgotten about. Only reason I remembered it is because I was looking at my photos for inspiration and found the reference pic and said hey. So I dug it out and finished it. Ta da. 9x12 oil on canvas.

It’s been hard getting myself back to painting. I lost my mojo. So I decided on something more joy and less swamp (a few posts back). So here it is, the epitome of Joy. 9x12 oil on wrapped canvas.

I have a Max Weber reproduction in my bedroom. Had it for as long as I can remember. So long that I don’t remember how I got it. Instead of being sick of looking at it, I painted my own version of it. 😬 12x12” oil on canvas.

It’s been over a month since I painted. Having forgotten how, I eased back in by giving a facelift to another I had painted. It went from red wine vineyard to a lavender farm. 16x20” oil on canvas.

This is the zillionth in my series called Above My Fireplace. Ever since I painted my fireplace about 3 or 4 years ago, I have painted various landscapes to match it. And also above the chair because it matched the pillow. And cat. The cat matches everything. Stay tuned for 2 more additions to Above My Fireplace. 16x20” oil of a vineyard in McMinneville Oregon.

I present to you the best cat in the world. I never met a perfect cat until her. She is the sweetest, cuddliest most charming cat who actually plays with toys you buy her, sleeps in the bed you buy her. And uses her cat tree you buy her. As every cat owner who buys their cats things only to see them collect dust knows what I’m talking about. I love everything about her except for the fact she isn’t mine. And she lives 8 hours away. “Widow” aka “Puff” 8x10 oil on canvas.
