The making of Wild Heart ❤️
Here’s a little behind the scenes moment of the creating of a flash piece, called Wild Heart. A story of how a wild rose blooms and fruits even through the shattering of a heart. A story of how we grow from the things we thought would break us. But really, the broken pieces allow for the next evolution to take place, and for new things to grow in its place. This is an homage to this painful yet beautiful process.
I start all my flash pieces by sketching them out in procreate on the iPad. I then adjust the size and print out the piece on white printer paper. This allows me to really fine-tune the final size of the piece and gives me a lot of flexibility. Then I get a piece of Vellum tracing paper. The stuff is much thicker than regular tracing paper and I find that it works beautifully for my flash pieces. Lately I’ve been using acrylic markers for my lines as well as micron pens for the finer ones. I find that the posca markers are highly saturated and give me a single width line which works great for tattoos. If I choose to color these pieces with colored pencil or paint, the marker lines stay saturated and waterproof and does not budge. This is my process!
Excuse any shakiness in my voice, first time doing a voiceover xD
