Kinda chic to be a dancer at SODC. ✨

Because being a dancer here is about so much more than learning choreography.

It’s learning how to work hard AND be silly.
To take correction and try again.
To show up and give your all.
To learn the history behind the art you love.
To be a team player.
To celebrate someone else’s win just as loudly as your own.
To encourage the dancers coming up behind you.
And somewhere along the way… to completely fall in love with dance. 🤍

We’re not just raising great dancers at SODC. We’re helping raise confident, hardworking, kind humans who know how to show up for themselves and for each other.

At SODC, dance is about more than steps, counts and performances. It’s about building confidence, finding your voice, learning who you are and having the courage to walk your own path.

WHAT IS THEATRICAL JAZZ?

Think Broadway energy + jazz technique + storytelling.

Theatrical Jazz teaches dancers how to do more than learn choreography—it teaches them how to perform it.

Students work on:
✨ Jazz technique & musicality
✨ Character development
✨ Facial expressions & stage presence
✨ Storytelling through movement
✨ Confidence and performance quality
✨ Broadway-inspired choreography

This is a great class for dancers who love to perform, tell a story, play a character and bring a little extra personality to the stage.

And you don’t have to be an experienced performer to start. This is a place to learn, grow and discover a whole new side of dance.

🎭 Theatrical Jazz has openings for our upcoming season!

If you have a dancer who lights up when the music comes on, loves musicals, or is always putting on a show at home… this might just be their class.

Our community SHOWED UP for Fall Registration!

We are so excited to see so many of our classes already filling—and several completely full. Thank you to every family who continues to choose SODC as a place for your dancers to learn, grow, build confidence, and find community.

If you haven’t registered yet, there’s still room for you! Here are a few classes we’d love to give a little extra love to this week:

✨ Kids Hip Hop
High-energy, upbeat and FUN. Dancers work on rhythm, musicality, coordination and age-appropriate hip hop movement while building confidence and learning how to express their own style.

✨ Kids Creative Dance Combo
A great introduction to the world of dance! This class gives younger dancers the opportunity to explore movement, music, coordination and basic dance foundations in an encouraging environment designed to keep them learning AND having fun.

✨ Kids Theatrical Jazz & Hip Hop
For the kids who love to PERFORM! This class combines the energy of hip hop with the personality and storytelling of theatrical jazz. Dancers work on musicality, expression, performance skills and confidence while learning choreography.

Fall classes are filling quickly, but these classes currently have openings for new students.

Whether your child is stepping into a studio for the very first time or ready to continue building their skills, we’d love to have them dancing with us this season. 🤍

Some studios only show you the finished product.

At SODC, we want our dancers, families, and community to see what it actually takes to grow in this art.

The hours of practice.
The repetition.
The sacrifice.
The corrections.
The moments of not getting it right—and choosing to try again anyway.

Because dance isn’t a quick journey. A beautiful performance or a new skill doesn’t happen overnight. It’s built slowly, through discipline, patience, resilience, and a whole lot of hard work.

And clearly, our dancers are ready to put in that work. 🤍

Our first KHH class filled within the first few HOURS of registration, so we’ve added another KHH class to the schedule! We love seeing the excitement for a new season and having the opportunity to make room for even more dancers to learn, grow, and challenge themselves.

Because one day, something that once felt impossible becomes something they can do.

That’s the part we love.

Not just the finished product—but everything it took to get there.

This is dance. This is growth. This is SODC.

Soft arms, strong technique, pointed toes, and a whole lot of focus behind every “effortless” movement. 🤍

Our dancers have been working on the little details that make ballet feel like magic—balance, control, musicality, and learning how to move with confidence and grace.

Because ballerinas ( and cavaliers 🕺) don’t just float… they WORK for that float.
