So wonderful when my wheel says, “yes, today you’ve got this!” Good news, as well, I kept my foot away from the pedal to avoid another spinning, pancake disaster!!!

I have to share the valuable lesson I learned today while throwing on my wheel. I am now reclaiming some of the mishap from 4 lbs of clay, I’m also making some unplanned glaze test tiles.

I was so proud, thinking of the handles and glaze combo I was going to add to the piece. Couldn’t wait to snap a photo. The piece had a flat bottom about 12” across, the sides about 4“ tall, rim curved in a bit!!! It would have been a great piece. I was so careful not to bump the rim, (this was another lesson I’ve learned over the years.) It was my last piece of the day so I figured I would leave the wheel spin slowly while I cleaned up, giving the piece a chance to dry a bit before removing it. As I got up from my stool and removed my foot from the pedal, the tip of my shoe caught under the pedal causing the wheel to spin like a whirling top. I ended up with a lovely, flat pancake!!!!

The good news is I learned a valuable lesson and secondly, and more importantly, I now know I can do it!!!! Next time!! (Sounds like one of those, I caught a fish that was a whopper, but it got away.)😳

Have a great weekend!!! Hugs!! 🤗

Remember the important things. Make plans and remember why you made them. Do all the things and remember why you did them. Fail and remember what not to do next time. Stop looking so far ahead that you forget where you are.
Spent my morning watching and reading people that forget too much. Forgetting with purpose, with intent or just to numb a feeling they really need to feel.
Is there such a thing as malicious forgetting?
