We would like to remember one of our long time members, Penny Loyd. Penny was one of a kind. You never had to wonder how she felt about anything. She was very straight forward and a bit waspy. She loved The Grannis Trail Riders and enjoyed bringing her grand children, Rhett and Cheyenne when they were younger. She was so proud of their riding skills. Most of the time they rode ba****ck and rode like little Indians from the Wild West. I was told she participated in riding some herself, even entering the Mrs. Grannis Trail Riders Rodeo Royalty one year. She was a hard worker, helping out in the announcer box and concession stand during some of her years as a member. In her later years, you could always find her on the bottom row of bleachers, right under the announcer box, visiting with all the passerbys. At this time, we ask that you remember her family and friends when you say your prayers. We are working on finding out details of the funeral expenses and may ask in the following days, if you feel led, to help her family out financially. If we feel this is something we need to do to help honor her, the money will go directly to the funeral home. We, at GTR, are thankful for her service and her time that has helped keep our legacy going. Rest in Peace, Ms. Penny!

If you are using our arena…and leaving this…
STOP!!! Have some respect for our board members, who have a million better things to do, then pick up your trash! If it continues, the arena will be locked! This is not the first time it has happened! Every weekend we have to pick up trash, specifically b**r cans! If you’re big enough to drink it, be big enough to pick up after yourselves!

One of our own is going through a tough time right now! Please be in prayer for CharlieKate! Pray for success in all things medical and for a speedy recovery for our sweet girl! Please pray for her family as well as they are going through this with her!

From her momma:

I wanted to reach out and let our friends know that Charlie Kate is currently going through rejection with her heart transplant. We have a process ahead of us with treatments, appointments, and her having to be homebound for a while, which is going to be hard on her both physically and emotionally.
We would really appreciate all the prayers you can send her way. Please pray that her body responds well to treatment, that the rejection resolves, and that her heart stays strong. Also pray for peace, comfort, and encouragement for Charlie Kate during the days she has to stay home and miss out on the normal things a teenager wants to be doing.
Please pray for strength and wisdom for all of us as we walk through this with her, and for her doctors and transplant team as they make decisions about her care.
Charlie Kate has already been through so much, and we know how powerful prayer and the support of people who love her can be. Thank you for loving our girl and keeping her lifted up in prayer during this difficult season. We love you all and appreciate all the calls, text, and prayers!
