Introducing this week’s NAEA student spotlight: Rose Bobelak!

“Hi my name is Rose and I am a Ceramics BFA and Art Education major At SIUe. I use both sculptural and wheel thrown ceramic elements to achieve a body of work that highlights the connection between the earth and human touch. I have had a love for ceramics since learning to make pinch pots in middle school. My knowledge of wheel throwing has also transferred over to glass blowing where I have been creating cups and vases in a centrifugal motion. I love learning new mediums and continuing my education in every corner of art so I can bring a wealth of knowledge to my future students. “

With graduation just a couple days away we want to give a special congratulations to our four seniors .d.seitzinger for completing their student teaching. We would like to thank Levi, Miah, Kaitlin, and Michelle for all their hard work and commitment within the art education program and we wish them good luck as they move on to the next stage in their lives. 🎓

Meet the team Friday would like to introduce you to Miah Hanson! She is a senior, getting her major in Art Education. Miah has been a member of NAEA for two years and will be student teaching in Spring 2022. Miah’s work is inspired by classical paintings and mythology. Meet the team Friday would like to introduce you to Mallory Bugg! They are a senior, majoring in art education and would like to pursue a BFA in drawing. Mallory has been a part of NAEA for two years and currently is the new co-president. Mallory’s work revolves around exploring the relationship between humans and nature. As well as the exploration between our relationship with gender and also mental illness. As we finish today, we want to give a special congratulations to .k.96 for successfully completing her student teaching this semester leading to graduation!🎓Through these difficult times, her academic achievements are a testament to the character that she possesses and carries with her as she continues to take the next steps in her life. Meet the team Friday would like to introduce you to Kaitlin Johnston! Kaitlin is in her senior year at SIUE, majoring in art education and getting her BFA in printmaking! She has been a member of NAEA for 3 years and is currently our co president.
