Friends, many of you know me as the fun loving, steel slinging sideman/band leader/music man that I am...but MANY of you don't know that I'm also a seasoned (sweet + spicy) Music Industry Veteran.
As such, one of the many roles/services that I offer to the businesses and organizations that I contribute toward with my proof of work is lead Sponsorship Fundraiser.
For the last 4 years or so, I have been specifically focused on building the Smiling Acres Music Festival Year 4! Sponsorship Program by developing and deepening the relationships we have cultivated with our local and regional communities alongside our committee.
Short of the long is that it costs a lot of money to put on a Music Festival. Over the past 4 years, we have grown substantially and organically thanks to our loyal audience and festival goers. However, as most businesses do, we have invested everything, and then some, into the festival operations and on-site developments.
The core committee (2 Co-CEOs Nate and Rhonda Drews, our CFO Tim King, Vendor Coordinator David Reeve, and me, the Entertainment Director) haven't been paid a dime for the work we've collectively put in and our long list of volunteers and coordinators mostly work on a volunteer basis for access to the festival. All of this is to say that we've got the costs of putting on a festival of this scope (small and mighty, though we may be) to the tune of up to (and often surpassing) $100,000 plus the balance of previous year's expenses that have yet to be recouped.
The Smiling Acres Sponsorship Program runs for a full year and includes a ton of marketing and advertising perks for your local business from tickets and swag to shout-outs in between every act all weekend long during the festival, as well as landing page placement all year long on our website.
