In a skirmish game, have you ever lost one of your units and felt like "it's over"? In BattleScars we implemented the "bounce-back" mechanic to help reduce this feeling. When a players unit is destroyed, the they receive a limited supply of resources including extra action points and typically an overload token - allowing for an action to be used 2 times!

We are careful to make sure these resources did not punish the attacker but rather just make sure there is not a snowball effect. This mechanic has had very positive feedback from both sides in our testing.

The GIF shows a unit taking damage. Once the armor value is reached the unit takes a critical. Once the critical limit is reached, the section is destroyed and the "bounce back" resources are given.

Note the game pieces are prototypes - the bases will be clear acrylic in final.

Check out the live recording of BattleScars Event! The video features a 7 point game with a very close battle throughout. There is commentary mixed in too. Hope you enjoy!

Note that this would typically be an hour and half match but with the commentary it went slight over.

Please post any questions you might have and watch for more gameplay videos throughout the campaign!

Here is a look at some details on the model assembly, scale, and bases. We designed the bases to be reversible allowing every model to be used by either player. They are pre-marked with letters for each squad member and duplicate of units to reduce setup time and confusion.

There is also options to add additional bases which include more Dark\Light cardboard bases and an alternate color set for 3-4 player events!

BattleScars can work with existing mats and accessories with 1.25" or 33mm hexes.

Here are some links for more info - Kickstarter begins Nov 2nd!
