We pledge allegiance to the Kingdom of Bebop and to our Founding Father, the Great Charlie 'Bird' Parker. We promise to shed late, gig hard, burn, and play 'out' s**t whenever possible. We will not shy away from the obstacles denying us entrance to Bebop Paradise, but instead devote ourselves to overcoming the difficulties of artistry. We vow to gain knowledge from our predecessors and to pass the
torch along to our successors in hope of further embedding our ideas and culture in this world. Bebop Survival Task Force is a Kalamazoo based Free Jazz/Fusion/Rock quartet. This group flourishes in venue and festival environments. Our repertoire includes modernized arrangements of classic jazz composers i.e Thelonious Monk, Ornette Coleman, Charles Mingus, Charlie Parker. However, BSTF produces original music that can be characterized as Funk/Rock, Jazz, Jam Band, and Free Jazz. In addition to performing as a group, Bebop Survival Task Force provides scoring/composing/arranging services. Current Members Include:
