JOIN US FOR POST-SHOW DISCUSSIONS ON SEPTEMBER 13, 17, 18, 20, 24, 25.

Engage in dialogue around the impact of Come From Away with your community; the concessions stand will be open in the lower lobby for 10 minutes for snacks and beverages, then patrons are invited to come back into the theatre for a brief discussion lead by cast members with audience participation.

ABOUT THE SHOW:
Come From Away is based on the true story of the time when the isolated community of Gander, Newfoundland, played host to the world on September 11, 2001. Undaunted by culture clashes and language barriers, the people of Gander cheered the stranded travelers with music, an open bar and the recognition that we’re all part of a global family.

“…the physiological confirmation that this effervescent musical, enveloped in Canadian good will, is an antidote for what ails the American soul…” – Washington Post

RATED:
PG-13 for mature thematic elements surrounding the 9/11 terrorist attacks, including intense emotional scenes, discussions of fear, grief, and loss, along with mild profanity and alcohol consumption

Come From Away is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI). All authorized performance materials are also supplied by MTI.

"For the love of God, stop bringing toilet paper to the Lion's Club!"

Real-life couple Amy and Kyle Cain take on beloved characters in Civic's production of Come From Away.

Kyle plays Claude, the mayor of Gander, a character based on Claude Elliott, who served as the mayor of Gander from 1996 to 2017. Mayor Elliott's real-life actions during those five days in September — organizing shelter, food, and comfort for the travelers — inspired the heart, warmth, and humor of his namesake character.

Amy plays Janice, a reporter on her very first day on the job on September 11, 2001. Janice's character is based on two media professionals who covered the actual events in Gander: Janice Goudie, a reporter for the Gander Beacon, and Brian Mosher, a corresponded for CBC Radio.

Don't miss seeing Amy and Kyle and the incredible company of Come From Away as they open Civic's Centennial Season on the 25th Anniversary of 9/11.
